We can put a man on the moon but we can't design a strap lock that will withstand spinning a guitar around your neck?!?!? Whats this world coming to?

We also spent hundreds of millions (if not billions) putting a man on the moon, but hey, if you can get the government to put you in their budget, props to you!

One small spin for mankind, one giant spin for staplockkind (or something like that).

haha, thanks. i don't need any more advice anymore, because i have mastered the technique, and it is awesome!! i put the wrong screw in my guitar for the strap locks and it was to small hence it flying out and denting my guitar. but i went to G3 and saw Yngwie do that move, and my school's talent schow is comming up so i was gonna do eruption and do the guitar swing around my neck, and still am going to, but now i know how to do it. Its not scary throwing it over, you let go of your guitar right by your ear, and throw it hard, otherwise it will suck and you won't catch it or will look really bad. if you do it fast enough then it all works out, the onlything you have to work on then is making the momentum of your guitar not pull you backwards, but its worth sacrificing a few dents in my guitar for learning that move.

A guy I used to jam with did that on stage once, and it was AWESOME!!! He got it on video tape and everything...a beautiful thing on stage I think. I am afraid to try it on my guitar, even though I have a locking strap, just for that reason, that I'm afraid it will not hold, but if it is executed correctly, it's a beautiful thing:)

yeah, i did my schools talent show yesterday, and i did eruption. it was awesome, i threw the guitar whip in it, and right after i did it you couldn't even hear my guitar over the crowd applauding to it. it was perfect, and i did the song really good also, i made about 2 mistakes, both weren't significant, but the guitar whip is a aewsome trick, especially once you get the hang of it without your guitar falling off haha.

OK, now you need to take the move to the next level....

....the next logical progression.....

...think "hula hoop"....

Well, Vai has "been there, done that"....

Instead of around his hips, he took the guitar and was "hula hooping" it around his neck.

Must have hurt like hell!

can you say "Whiplash"?

:D
