How do you determine a scale

It's from the bottom of the nut to where the strings enter the bridge or the end of the bridge??

from the fingerboard side of the nut, to where the string touches the bridge (where it contacts the saddle)

.... sounds like you have a 25.5"

It might be "better" to measure from the nut to the 12th fret and multiply by 2... the bridge saddles (due to intonation adjustments) might skew your measurements... if ya know what I mean .

but where on the twelth fret the metal gret it's self or the in between the twelth and tirthteen fret

i think you measure from the middle of the metal fretwire.

you're right...from the fb side of the nut to the middle of the 12th fret's fretwire times two.
