Devon Headen Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 Let me get this straight...you're looking for info on something, but you don't know what this something is? Give us some kind of information to go on. Quote
asm Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 are you talking about inlay (abalone and plastic inlay) or a coloring or texturing effect to a body/neck? maybe hes talking about relicing? Quote
Scott Rosenberger Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 Maybe he's taking about making quilted maple look like water Quote

skibum5545 Posted April 10, 2004 Report Posted April 10, 2004 erm.... about that lake effect... all I can picture is a waterlogged guitar body with rotting grain, and that couldn't be it.... maybe the effect he's looking for is like this.... Quote
ajb Posted April 23, 2004 Author Report Posted April 23, 2004 i dont think thats it, but thats pretty cool Quote
RAI6 Posted April 23, 2004 Report Posted April 23, 2004 I cannot remember the company (Larrivee, Martin, Washburn...I don't know), but I saw the ad in Guitar Player... Someting about pulling out an old log from a lake, and making guitars out of it. The wood was a couple of hundred years old, and had just been in the perfect situation to be preserved while in the water. Needless to say, they were only making a limited number of guitars. And in case you were wondering, they weren't cheap... Quote

daveq Posted April 23, 2004 Report Posted April 23, 2004 Does Drak's wood guy have a name other than "Drak's wood guy"? That's the only name I've seen him go by in this forum lately and it's pretty hard to find him by doing a search on "Drak's Wood Guy"!!!! Quote
Scott Rosenberger Posted April 23, 2004 Report Posted April 23, 2004 No I'm pretty sure it's just Drak's Wood Guy I think it's Buzzsaw International Quote
