Rocket
Usually it's the other way around, but what would cause buzzing noise when the strings are touched???
truerussian558
most likely the bridge is improperly grounded (or not grounded at all). you are a bucket of noise article

Rocket
That is an interesting Guitar Nuts article. I figured it out. Someone who wired this guitar for me years ago used 2 conductor+ground wire and only used one wire from it. So there were two pieces of it, and a total of 4 unused wires inside the cavity. I thought, "I think I'll take those out." Seems to have solved it.
rabidmoose171
Ive got the same problem, but i think its my amp, but it is plugged into the ground properly... oh well.
Jehle
I thought that you might have "grounded" the guitar with the hot wire instead. That would cause the guitar to buzz like crazy if you touched it.
rabidmoose171
wouldnt it give you a nice little shock too?
GregP
Only if your amp is. There's no live current being fed to a guitar through an audio cable. Greg

truerussian558
yes if your ground and lead wire are revrsed at the input jack, when you touch the strings it will squeel like when you touch the tip of the input wire
