american_jesus
dont know how it would look finished, but that top wood looks killer!
Myka Guitars
Yes, that would look pretty good. Walnut is one of my favorite tonewoods to work with. If you went with a lighter weight mahogany neck or even walnut I think you would have an awesome guitar. That top looks killer! And that fingerboard has perfectly stright grain. This will be a stunner. Keep us posted with pics.

guitarchump
Um Im not an expert on this but wouldn't zebra wood be real bad for a neck considering it splits real easy?
Primal
It is kind of hard to tell what it will look like when looking at unfinished wood. Maybe you could put some mineral spirits or something on the wood so we will know what it will look like finished?
Dragyn
Um Im not an expert on this but wouldn't zebra wood be real bad for a neck considering it splits real easy? I have a Zebrawood neck that I will be putting on a piece built and it is very solid and not looking to split any time soon! Dragyn
aeli
I think white walnut is pretty rare am I wrong? It's rare in my part around the globe anyway, so I wouldn't use it as a body wood, why don't you use regular dark walnut?
camcool
I don't think it's too rare got the blank from my local lumberyard for 40 bucks

camcool
no the walnut doesn't need to be fiured it's being topped with goncalo alves top crotchwood
truerussian558
zebrawood is very prone to splitting, it doesnt seem it will split along the grain, but it surprises you, i was using some for clamping cauls and just some moderate tension just snapped it in half. bigdguitars
Zebrawood does have an odd grain. It does move like all other woods, and what you think is quarter sawn is sometimes flatsawn, or worse. just make sure the wood is stable.
