  1. Thats fantastic. Matia used to spend hours on his planes but LGM you are the star. excellent work. its nice to see a craftsman at work i tell you what... please keep it up.
  2. For a first try its damn good. only thing I would say tis probably what you already know in that its a little too deep. If you PM me I'll send you the full specs from a CNC routerd handle i did my last job. let me know dude but so far looks fine to me! good effort!
  3. My brother Lee bought an Ibanez guitar neck from LGM about 18 months ago and shipped it to UK. he had to pay an additional 50 quid just to get it out of customs. i remember him being pissed although the neck was fantastic... just my $0.02. LGM was great though!
  4. Old topic I know but I have a 12" Ryobi Compound mitre saw and its fantastic. I had an old Dewalt one but this kicks its arse. It has a laser sight and is accurate as well, something I was kinda dubious about... But seriously I have nothing but praise for it.
  5. Ive seen crashed WWI fighters in better nick than that!!!
  6. not sure but I have to say they have great snowboarding in aspen!
  7. Litch wanna send me the girl in your avatar?????

  10. Can you PM me with a cost to australia? i'd be exxxxxxtremely interested!
  11. ok first time of entry! haha.. I'm entering Project Dirty as its mostly a modified Ibanez. SPECS Body built from Basswood by myself using the old RG 550 Body it was based on. Low Trs Trem ( Edge snapped on the knife edge ). Bridge pickup from a Charvel I used to have and the neck and middle from an old yamaha. All Chrome hardware with a satin wallnut finish. So there you go! Total cost less than $150 AU Cheers!!!
  12. Yeah I thought of that... infact I remember Cerealk burning an RG or old Jem in his backyard a while back?? Anyways the buring part I'm cool with... but the question i'm asking is with the colours and swirling kind of effects the buring has created.. is this because they originally burned a Universe MC or is it the actual salts that created that look? I'm confussed..
  13. i just saw this on poo bay australia... its an old Reb Beech model from the early nineties but for some reason has had the edge trem removed and a Jackson unit placed in there... My quesion is can this be done as a straight swap? Or wil the body have required to be altered in some way? From the picks I can see the guitar is in bad shape really but there dosent appear to be a huge amount of work or alterations around the trem area. its only going for $170 AU so far so may be worth a closer look, everything else seems ok but I'm not sure what the stability of that bridge will be like? Any ideas?
  14. Some samick guitars I've seen and owned in the past used to have a normal strat type nut before the locking nut. God knows why they did ths as with the one I had it really didnt do much, but yeah thats what it is... All you need to do is get some bone and file away the string runners to meet up with your locking nut. At least thats what i did when i lost mine. From what I remember they werent very well secured and while tinkering with the body of mine I lost it. Easily replaced though!
  15. I've always wanted to have a crack at making one of these guitars... However reading throught he vai website it says they got the effect for the body by burning mineral salts on the body... does anybody know what type of mineral salts? Or which would owrk best to achieve this effect??? Any info would be appreciated! Many thanks!
  16. Thanks Bro! Project Matia is coming along but I'm currently waiting for the trem, machineheads and locking nuts to be powder coated in a brass finish by a friend of mine!!! I hope to get them back some time in the next 2 weeks then its just a case of finising the vine inlay on the neck and getting the final couple of coats of clear on her!! As soon as she is done picks will be posted!!! Oh and Saber I think your right thats a cool idea!!! Truss rod cover has now been removed!! Cheers and thanks for all your comments!!!!
  17. Thanks! The body took the best part of a day to get right from scratch, plus another 2 days for gluing the four piece together ( drying time ) the wood used is just four pieces of old basswood laminated together.
  18. I got lazy with the headstock... with the headstock being maple I just didnt want to darken it down too much, kind of liked the diff shades. If anyone knows where I can get a decal for the headstock I'd appreciate it though!
  19. Ok so I decided to build a really battered looking Jem / RG type thingo. And here is the result, I'm really happy with the way it looks kinda rustic and worn... There is purposely no real finish to it as I want it to get dinked and battered about quite a bit... its a work horse at the end of the day... I built the body myself and changed the electrics / pickups to something a bit more mellow I got out of an old Yamaha... The pickguard started out clear so I just laminated some reflective sheet to the underside of it and there you go... Mirror Pickguard!!! Chuffed!!! All up including the guitar this project cost me less than $150 AU which I'm amazed by... thats including scamming the original neck and bits and bob's from a pawn shop for $75 AU... ahahaha FOOLS!!!! Any comments welcome!! Cheers and hope your all good!
  20. Guitarm... i've tried emailing you the info but your email address I cant email to. Keep getting the message Email Delayed Notification! Do you have another email address and I'll fire it off again! Cheers

  22. Brian that would be amazing!!!!! I'll pay you for it of course!!!!! Please let me know! Cheers
  23. Ok I've managed to snap the base for a spare edge trem I have here... thing is I havent been able to find a part number for it anywhere as I need to replace it obviously. So here is a pic. Does anyone know what the part number for this main cast of the trem is? And does anyone have any idea where I can get a replacement from? Or anyone got one there willing to sell? Sorry for the really bad pic but my cameras having a bad day. The plate has snapped where the post would fit close to the upper E string. So I know its buggered! All help apprecieted!
