  1. i like my guitar, but i had to vote for TSL's strat. It's just too good.
  2. yes! Bubinga is my favorite wood of all time. Its not much for guitar usage im afraid, but on basses, it reigns king! I just bought this piece for a neckthrough im building (it doesnt quite compare, but it's still nice! [and less that 1/5th the price])
  3. lookin great! I see a charvel in the background! How much you cop for that one? Do you like it?
  4. nice looking neck, though the frets do look a little loose in some spots....this could cause problems?
  5. what about me i vote for me... and litch
  6. There are two of us. Kirk is doing the painting. He's got the air compressor and spray gun, i've got the power tools...
  7. he already chucked it, and odds are, i think its dust now
  8. wait....you WODed that guitar because you didnt like the electronics configuration?! Drak, thats just, extreme. No physical flaws, the least you coulda done was donate it to one of us strugglers... EDIT: You beat me to it. Post left for posterity.
  9. It's not even finished yet guys! Let the man breathe! By the by, what are you doing for a neck on this one? We assume standard tele shape, but f/b, neck wood, binding? Fill us in!
  10. thanks all for the good replies. I've taken the headstock ideas into consideration, and will start deliberating on a new oew, more appropriate one. It's going to paint as it stands, no front body bout (i sat with it, and it felt comfortable 'playing', and I didn't really feel like ruining the slick look a flat top can create)
  11. what exactly were those body part(s) you were referring to southpa....
  12. i think it's funny that he says there are 44 guitarists. One of the names listed is Lars Ulrich....i dont know all the names, any other drummers on the list?
  13. This morning I had myself a homemade Ash body blank. When i stopped this afternoon I had the following. and the back... It's going to be a 25 1/2" scale w/ 2 pc maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, and some random p/u's in it (one that came out of a Series 8 guitar and 1 that I'm going to buy elsewhere). It's going to be finished a la Squier Showmaster Rally Stripe here. (Notice similarities?) This one will be black with silver stripes, and our personal headstock. Decided to alter the headstock for 2 reasons 1. Personal Flare 2. I have 3 sets of unused 6 in a line tuners, and did not want to buy another Total project cost ~$90-$100
  14. i like the color scheme. The first pick is definatley not a warlock, but very cool. The second one looks like a warlock, but i have no idea bout dimensions. I'd take the first over the second, any day.
  15. I guess price depends on your conncetions... I've spent so far around $450 on tools, but (for example) i've got a project going right now that will have a total of $58 of wood in it (its not cheap wood, just inexpensive) plus some hardware (frets/inlays/bridge) and then i bought a BUNCH of stuff off a guy for about $5 a part (a pickup, set of tuners) and another $30 pickup. Total the project will only cost me about $100 EDIT: I forgot to counter myself ON The other hand...I also have a project in the works where the woods alone are around $350 ($150 for the neck alone) and some nice hardware which will total around $600 I've also got a project going where the woods are only going to cost around $100 but the parts will be over $600 (Bigsby Vibrato Tailpiece $170 TOM $80-ish BurstBucker Pro Pickups $260/set, Tuners $90, plus pearl block inlays, binding & truss rod). Total cost around $750. It varies....
  16. whered you get those decals printed anyway?
  17. Thats just....unexplicable....the color choice is unreal, because well, it just happens to look like a photograph of water superimposed on your guitar there....hot damn, i envy you
  18. I like it, it seems you do a lot of work for metal players. The Ragas V looks sweet, thought I'd be afraid of upper fret access with those little horns right there...
  19. perry the wood shown on his guitar is still bookmatched...and still figured?
  20. sorry to stray, but jeffrey, who is the girl in your avatar....please tell me thats not your wife
  21. haha we all agree that we dont like what BC Rich has done with their economy line. Drak, you're welcome to borrow the design any time you like, you pull of a much better finish than i, and i would be proud. To whomever asked (i forgot) the tailpoints on this version are broken even in that picture, as it is made of plywood, but i think on the real version im going to have them come to a less steep point, to avoid such calamity.
  22. Meh....a wise man has just spoked.
