  1. I had nothing but good experiences on the bay. maybe it's a good idea to have members post trustworthy, honest people who sell guitar related stuff. There's quite a lot honest and nice folks out there. I'm sure everybody knows Ben Luzier (Sandy1070) as an example
  2. I got a few Seymour Duncan strat pups labeled 6R and 3R. Anyone know what that means? The SD site isn't much help
  3. well, diggin' up this topic..... I was wondering what you guys do when the slots are pretty much worn out? Fill the slots and re-saw? Use that $45 Stew Mac pliers? Or overbend the fret, press/hammer it in and hope for the best? Just wondering...
  4. practise with your handdrill......you can get perfectly alligned holes by hand... been there.. done that... really
  5. do some research and email.. we're not warmoth
  6. what are you looking for? what neck for what guitar? what sound? Alder isn't normally used for necks.....
  7. true, it's all in what you prefer. Some men like men, rather than girls. Some men like ibanez rather than Gibson's or Fender's. Some dig cheesy logo's, some don't. It's all taste Every time I look at a jap. jum, or whatever they're called, I can see the designers looked rather well at strats. re-shaped the horns a bit, changed the tonewood for cheap basswood, have them manufactured in the far East and painted them pink Hyunsu, you have an impressive amount of projects going on. Are you planning to finish those?
  8. Nice Derek. I've been browsing your web site, but I can't find nowhere pics of finished guitars
  9. yeah, It's a nice poll... However, I don't understand your question.....
  10. Oh really? I think you're telling us utter crap
  11. I was wondering how to make a perfect 1/4" radius corners on the end of a neck. Untill now I just used a template that I copied from an old strat neck, but that won't do on my current project.
  12. Mine is, other than too big, wrongly shaped. There's some weird twists and turns I really hate. I guess I should've sent it back... Why would Stew Mac sell templates designed for use with a collar, but post this on their web site?
  13. hahaha..Perry, you should be a mod... Thanks for the link, man!
  14. well, with whatever you replace the binding... it'd still be a binding. What about completely refinishing the body?
  15. Calling all bass owners (preferably jazz bass owners)... I need to know the thickness of the headstock... would anyone be so kind to measure that for me? Thanks!
  16. Yeah, I figured I'd have to use a razor blade. I just never knew dye would get on white binding. Forgive my ignorance...
  17. I like that body shape alot. Looks like a jazz bass meets a Firebird... very nice
  18. no, I completely filled the spalt with glue. I use nitro and you really don't want to use nitro as a grain/pore filler unless you let it sit for a few years. Nitro shrinks forever.
  19. the runny stuff... just use a brush or whatever suits you.
  20. oh wait a sec... I forgot the specs: European Alder body Spalted maple top Flamed neck Brazilian rosewood fingerboard Gotoh hardware Harry Hauessel (German) single coil pups
