  1. Perry, what do you use to buff your guitars with?
  2. Erik, how much $$$ do you estimate you have into that? Where did you source the parts? I have had good luck with silicone spray lube for a lot of things metal.
  3. You made the right choice IMO
  4. Its about time we saw some pics! Keep em' coming, they look great!
  5. Apparently it is, LGM's advice is spot on but if you don't understand how a router works you're out of luck. That you need to figure out on your own.
  6. The best way to COVER that mess is to use a pickguard, otherwise, I don't know what to tell you.
  7. You might get a strange look if all you ask for is the leveling as thats really only half the job.
  8. I guess if you are trying to minimize the "open space" around the pickup I would get the humbucker template for the pickguard and add the ears to it as you said. That should give you minimum open space. More importantly, lets see some pics of those carved tops!
  9. Man, this was a tough month. I really liked Stew's ax but in the end I went for Tony's guitar, its so simple and that really did it for me.
  10. Kevan, what's this? P.S. sorry about the mis spell in the title, too much coffee
  11. So now that Drak has decided to stay I can ask him this, what grit is that sanding disk you use?
  12. Perry, what's your method for the faux binding? Do you just tape it off or seal the area prior or what?
  13. The finish sounds cool, what kind of paint setup do you have?
  14. You can add nickle covers to most humbuckers but you have to make sure you get ones with the same pole spread as the humbucker in question. You can also add new "toppers" to the bobbins on the humbuckers to change the colors ie. change an all black pickup to a zebra pickup (I think that is what you were getting at). Check out Brian's site for both bobbin toppers and covers (I think he has nickle covers).
  15. Every member should be required to carve that in their forehead.
  16. It looks like a hardware store threw up in your garage
  17. If you bind the holes they may look too small. I would leave them as is, I like them.
  18. Much nicer than the first shade of green. Great pic too.
  19. Here's one I did. Still got to finish sanding, look at all those nicks
  20. Take a piece of scrap wood and those screws and try different bits until you find the right one. If you dont have the screws yet dont drill anything.
  21. Tru Oil is polymerized tung oil, it allows for a harder, more durable finish.
