  1. yes Wez,it fits quite good for glue, but there is a great "hole" to fill, and all the body will need a colored finish...and i want mine natural!
  2. well....this is what happen when working without using the brain..... http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/7707/jembreak1th8.jpg i left the hands on the body when the router was at 18000 rpm....i dont know where my mind was..... anyway, another body is ready for the final routings (pick ups,trem.....) stay in tune!!!
  3. waiting to see the project finished. anyway seems a great, beautiful guitar!!!! want to see more!!!
  4. i really, really like your guitar! a nice example of wood work!!!! great!
  5. just a little update,on monday i'll show you the guitar finished (but not painted!) making the lion claw is a "pain in the ass" (as you say...),i'm using my hand and a Dremel.
  6. Hi Zion, the claw it's made with a router so,inside,is pretty a "clean" job, ready for sealer/finish. maybe i didnt really understood your question?
  7. just a little update about my Jem clone: during September i had built a Fender neck for a friend of mine,so i returned working on my clone only by now. In the end i choosed mahogany,i found a really nice 1 piece blank. Initially i was scared about weight, but now with the first "cut" it turned more human, about 2 kg and it needs all the routings,so i believe in 1+1/2 kg total weight. The man who gave me the blank told me it's 4-5 years old Brazilian or Santos. But it have the tipical Honduras grain,it's reddish/brown in color, and it have also some kind of longitudinal "curly",wich make me think about the Sapelli....who knows??? Anyway look really risonant if i bonk on it!!! here a pic,let me know what you think!
  8. difficult to choose this time....The Ormsby SC or the Telezipper? my vote is for the Telezipper, maybe because it looks to me.....different!!!!
  9. No words to say how much i like your guitars!!! The inlay inside the Shark is....perfect!!!!
  10. with small work on the right side of the original Edge routing, you can fit an Original Floyd Rose like i made with my original 777Jem. I made some tests and all i can say is both are the best : original Edge is a little more "sparky" respect the OFR,the second one seems more "warm sounding". One thing im sure of is that OFR have longer sustain,i believe it depends by different materials they are made of. bye
  11. i really like it!it has something.....elegant!
  12. man,it's a wonderful,awesome guitar!!!! i really like inlays,not so much the knobs...anyway.... GREAT JOB!!!!
  13. Really Nice,i like it! always wanted to build a 2 humbuck mahogany tele.......but with floyd rose!!!! who knows...maybe one day!!!
  14. whoa man!quilt top is amazing, and i like the stain too!!! nice job,but pay attention to details!!!!!
  15. i assume when you use modulations,you can't get distortions,right? so i believe this is what you need,only using a 3pdt stompswitch,4 resistors and 2 led.
  16. scott, great work here!!! i think it's African Mahogany,i had some Kaya body blank and they had the same color and grain. Some blank are reddish, some other pinkish! what about tone results?
  17. fantastic job!!!! i like your LPJ a lot!!!!
  18. great job,a true axe for true metal!!!!
  19. Greg,i think he is using Babelfish or some other translator tool. in italian "senza palettA" means "no headstock"!!!
  20. e certo,se davi un occhio a sx,sotto il mio nick! :D
