  1. Very nice, can you post a pic of the headstock?
  2. I thought about it to, but seen that it doesn't go all the way down I thought it would be ok. It should only take the tension from the 2 strings on top and it looks as the bass side is thicker than the treble.
  3. Like both, both seem familiar, but it is hard to come up with a 100% new design. I will be following this one, that bubinga looks very nice!
  4. "How big the grain is" No mistakes allowed,Miadin.. Hey, not fair bringing quotes from another thread here ok!!! ...damn Firefox corrects spelling but not grammar ok! Remember I'm running on spanglish!
  5. I do... Not really, I'm surprised only one person actually complained about it... can definitely tell that Perry hasn't been on the board in a long time! Love the guitar! First Rhoads V I seen with a single at the neck (or at least that I can remember).
  6. I'm a little late, but why the sanding sealer before the grain filler? If the intention was to show the grain it would be better to fill the grain before sealing. Once you seal the pores will be smaller, if not closed completely making your "grain filler" worthless. I don't know how "big" are the grain on that wood, never used it before. Either way, the guitar turned out great.
  7. does not seem to live in the darker spots, which makes reference Quite distinct from the colors nicely. Unfortunately, the veins of the tree can not be influenced I'm with you, definitely a gorgeous guitar!
  8. That piece of cherry is beautiful, if it wasnt for the little dark patch on the waist I would say it was perfect! And with the subtle "cherry burst" (not sunburst as there is no brown... or at least non discernible from those pics) looks great. http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.php?showtopic=27373&view=findpost&p=495358
  9. I hear you.I'd love to have had it turn gray. So your turning bald??? Cool project! I wish I could get my son to do half what your daughter is doing!!!
  10. Very nice Doug! I'm in the middle of relocating again, but as soon as I get situated and find the crafts shop where I'm going I will be getting in touch with you. Also looked at the necks you were offering, nice and reasonably priced!
  11. nice! Got to get to do one like this once I get to my new stations!
  12. Im liking it! Looking forward to more pics,
  13. Hyunsu! I build a guitar with him while I was stationed in Korea! Grgeat guy, he came over to NY and luckily I was stationed in MD and he was able to come down to my house for a visit. Thats him working on the neck for my guitar That's me Thats us in my housing in MD This idea is pretty cool! Definitely worth doing. There were a few people here that I looked upon while I was starting out and Drak and Hyunsu were 2 of them.
  14. Nice find! I can't wait to see your neck offerings, can't wait to start building again, this deployment and all the moving involved left me with no time to do anything.
  15. Long overdue update! This is looking great, I have always been jealous at your CNC and laser equipment! Keep it coming, cant wait to see this done!
  16. It could be that the finish itself got scuffed up by the material on the case. I had something similar when I brought my guitars back from Korea to the US. All I did was get polish the guitar and it was good again.
  17. Looking great! That what you did is the way I spray all the time when shooting metallic, I just take the excess of the paint out of the gun and pour the clear into so that the first few coats of clear got some flakes floating around.
  18. I was going to say the same, you can get a decent nickel plating kit from Eastwood or buy the chemicals and parts separately and nickel plate them, but I don't know about the black chrome finish. you could also polish them and send them to get powder coated with candie black...
  19. Well, Wes is one year older today! Happy Bday bro!!! :D Have a great one!
  20. I haven't seen progress on this since you started it... everytime I tried to see the pics they were either blocked at work, or the service we had was so slow that they will not load up at all. Very nice build!
  21. Nice and clean job!!! I'm liking this build!
  22. That body looks sexy in the sun!!! nice job!
  23. Cool, I'm always up for new things, sounds good, I like the 2K because I paint one day only and it is very durable. I'm thinking about re-finishing my blue PRS, since it lost almost all the blue tint on the toner coat (freaking weird, it is the first time that it happens to me). The guitar is waiting for me to get back, so lets see how much I feel like stripping and re-painting it once I get back.
