  1. how do you play a fretless bass??? i've always wondered that....
  2. wait, you can't have the neck finished before gluing it to the wings??? why not......i don't see why you couldn't if you had all your measurements perfect.....
  3. how many have you sold already?? thats cool
  4. I was gonna do my guitar set neck, but i was thinking a thru would be the same or easier. what do you guys think?? i'm gonna do a 3 piece neck maple/ b. limba/maple, and the body is going to be b. limba with a flamed maple top. thanks....
  5. just a quick question for the vets, which do you think is easier: a set neck or neck through.... i saw you just breeze through on your thru (it's probably because your so good) but it looks like it might be easier to do.........
  6. 3 channel?? go for the 2 channel they're better. 95' era. not that i have one though.....
  7. oh, shoot i forgot about those......then i probably won't have as rough a time as i thought i would...... thanks guys. heres me -> and maybe a little lol
  8. i know, im gonna do somethin like that, but with hummers
  9. so it has been done with success?? thanks that's what i think i'll do 2 burstbuckers assembled directly to a pickguard
  10. Do you have to have humbucker rings for humbuckers?? I was planning on putting burstbuckers on my 12 string i'm gonna build. I was kinda hoping to do like an assembled pickguard kinda like fender. Can i do that, or do i have to pickguard around the pickup rings.. and does anyone have pics of anyone that's done that before??? Cause i've never seen it...
  11. lol my mahogany desk is goin down.......
  12. Gibson les paul, how much money??? But, no i wouldn't send it to him, i hope people aren't sending it thinking he is a very experienced and seasoned luthier.....but that being said i still don't think 10 people should be badgering him, but he shouldn't be offering to do work if he's not 100% sure he can do the best job. you're welcome for the lesson
  13. is it too late to charge a bit more............food for thought..
  14. I know i'm just some weird guy that posts ignorant stuff and reads all of your stuff but this is funny. Like 5 or 6 guys are just yelling at this poor guy...........I'm gonna laugh when he actually does have some sweet guitars............ and for the record, i think his guitars are no where near perfect, but he's still trying....... please nobody make fun of me because i can build stuff......
  15. nope.........thanks for your help, if it doesn't work i'm coming back to pick a fight.......j/k ohhh i get it now for accoustic. i'm such a dork i know now thanks
  16. yeah mines probably gonna look worse. i'd be pretty proud if i were you. just do what he said, glue some sandpaper to a straight board and try to straighten up those routes. you can fill the neck pocket with something the sand it so it's even with the top. the grain won't match, but it will be better. keep goin....
  17. what?? no it's on ebay it says back and sides. i'm 95% sure that you can use it for a top....
  18. Like if it says "back" for wood, you can still use it for the top right?? sorry about this i just didn't wanna do something stupid, but i guess i already did
  19. NO WAY MAN, I SAW THAT AOL CD FIRST......
  20. diddo.....i'm more worried about my fingerboard....
  21. I think i'm gonna use these. But i'm gonna make my guitar like a vox teardrop kinda, and i want a pickguard in the same basic oval shape with the humbuckers and switch attached. Is there anyway i can do it like fender, the assembled pickguard, or do i just have to cut squares out of my pickguard to fit the humbuckers?? I think if i could do the assembled thing, i wouldn't route the guitar like fender, i would still route it like gibson, but with the pickguard. sorry if this sounds complicated or crazy...
