  1. That's a really nice red...I hate red. But that's really nice!
  2. Zakk does it TOO MUCH IMO! On the Ozzy Live Budokan it gets annoying he does it so much. I've used Jazz III blacks for years (and yes they are different from the reds), regular picks feel huge to me these days.
  3. Isabelle kick our butts last year, didn't have power for 8 days and ended up with 1500 gallons of water in my studio. I'm gettin the willies already and it's no where near us. Good Luck!
  4. Wow that was really difficult. I selected woodworking. Would suggest some focus on actual tool usage. I'm pretty novice with it all but am not an idiot (my opinion anyway), smart enough to know many of these tools have caused lots of injuries. In turn I haven't taken my Scroll Saw outta the box yet until I have time get familiar with usage beyond reading the manual. My 1 & 1/2 cents.
  5. I respect that! True tell tail of a real artist, nothing wrong with it what so ever! The flipper is mind blowing. Great and inspiring work!
  6. Really haven't heard much yet. They actually did a little (I mean little) show locally for a radio station 98Online Linky. Curious to here things in full.
  7. I would dare say it really depends. If your color coat is solid and showing up glossy and you want to give your clear something to stick too. Sanding at ~400 wet is a good idea. But if it's a metalic or the like you don't want to sand, it'll kill it.
  8. I could do that but not till Monday, if that's okay.
  9. Found one http://www.convert-wma-mp3.com
  10. I would like to give it a try. May take a little while to get familiar with it and to paint an appropriate melody over top. Not sure I have anything that converts a WMA audio format to use in ProTools..anyone know of a to WAV utility out there for this?
  11. GuitarFrenzy did a great walk trough of building a strat from scratch. You may find it helpful reading. Strat Build Linky Good luck and welcome to the board.
  12. 1974 First Guitar Global Acoustic from Sears or JcPenney 1976 First Electric Guitar Global from Sears or JcPenney (Still have this POS) 1979 First REAL Electric Guitar '79 Gibson Les Paul Standard (I sold it like an idiot)
  13. Other, list is too limited. Lower end Ibanez are great values. But the BEST value I've ever got was my New York Pro strat copy. Paid $52.00 New! Had to replace the nut instantly, otherwise it's better then the Fender MexiStrat I use for a MIDI controller I paid 10x for.
  14. Unless they use language like 'Guaranteed' within the statement, I wouldn't hold my breath, if it's nitro, it'll yellow, but it takes a long time. Acrylic doesn't yellow and poly doesn't either (I think ) but some others may have more dimensional insight. B
  15. Okay, sorry but I have to interject...a graphic eq is anything but. What it does is very minor in control. Parametric gives you by frequency control and provides the way to roll out or in any Q you want. Graphic Eq's were devised for people to buy toys for VERY MINOR adjustments to sounds, nothing serious. Seriously, go play the pedal anywhere you can find it, you'll see it doesn't do a heck of a lot for an electric player.
  16. Jer, please PM me when you decide what you want to charge for an 8 string hard tail of this guitar. I prefer purple....not kidding.
  17. Ya, that's more like it Ski, was starting to worry people were going to be so confused they'd give up. The suggestion of using a keyboard to help understand the obvious was excellent. Just keep in mind diatonic modes (regular major scales) are alway relative. A C Major scale is C Ionian is D Dorian is E Phrygian is F Lydian is G Mixolydian is A Aeolian is B Locrian. THEY ARE ALL THE SAME NOTES STARTING IN DIFFERENT PLACES!!! Where it really gets fun is when you start mixing modes, or in the middle of a phrase change from Dorian to Locrian. One of my favorites is for DeMiola type sounds is E Phrygian over E natural minor. Give it a try!
  18. Just keep practicing BigT. Those blisters will go away, and after a few years, you're finger tips will have a soft leathery feel to them with very little finger print at the ends..like mine.
  19. Practice Practice Practice. Improvised Soloing is an art form that requires considerable knowledge with years of practice. Steve Vai got his very beginning teachings with this friend Joe Satriani when in high school. Look what came of them.
  20. It's a reasonable price right now and probably at $39. Honestly though, that pedal really isn't all that flexable. I sold many to pickuped acoustic players years ago, but for electric, that graphic eq isn't really all that helpful. But this really depends on what you expect from it as well. my 1 1/2 cents.
  21. Wow that looks sharp! An Ibanez'ish shape with a special touch of THIS THING'LL SHRED!! sorta look, maple neck with inlay is a very nice and tasteful, great figure. Oh-oh think I feel a seven bug com'in on!?!
  22. It could be the pic decieving me but it really looks like it's into the nut location and the ruler isn't square on the board or in the middle of the board. Wouldn't radiusing cause some differences if the ruler was both not squared and not centered?
  23. I got nosey and looked for other pics on your page (sorry), this one really looks like the ruler location is wrong! http://users.pandora.be/peter.brosens/proj...star/mlstn1.jpg
  24. derek kinda missed what you're asking I think!?! BTW welcome to the forum This is a largely preference but typically you DO NOT want to screw those in as tight as you can because it will restrict the tremolo from being able to move. But if you'll never use the tremolo it's actually not a bad idea because it will slightly help bind the resonance of the guitar string, bridge and body. Now I personally break all the rules. I set those screws at about 1/8" and also back the trem spring screws out enough to allow the back of the trem to float about 3/8" above the body. This gives more ability to pull up on the trem and acts more like a floating system. Then do a setup that always results in having to drop the bridge saddles down and back a bit for action and intonation. hope it helped. Brian
