that is my vision: - reverb always connected to ground because my amp switches it on like that. - switch to change channel. although i think you found your way, just because i worked my way on paint to make this and didn't want it wasted bye

i have that setup in my amp. this are the steps i took to do it: 1- make out how the current pedal works. probably you have a stereo input on the back of your amp and one pole is used to switch the reverb and the other the channel. you have to guess which of the tips of the jack turns which. also you should make out if the switching is made by momentary switches or latched. you can guess this using a polimeter; connect it to the tip you are switching and to ground and press the pedal. if you press, it shows current until you press again, then it's latched, if it just shows connection while you press and as soon as you release it stops, the is unlatched (for which my information below won't work ) 2- knowing this you can just make your own switch. i will explain for latched switches, which is more common btw. what you should do is connect the switch from the tip which controls the channel to ground ( so that it opens or closes that circuit) and the reverb connect it directly to ground so that it stays always on as soon as you connect the plug at the back of the amp. that is what i did and it works for me, however it is just for latched switches, and that will probably be your case. sorry if i didn't explain it too clearly or my english is not clear enough. bye

ok, behringer ships the controller with the messages to change patches and that thing on the vamp2, but further things need configuration on the pedalboard, and that is a hell. a friend of mine owns one and he wasn't able to do it himself (it was not me who helped anyway) but when i learned about that, i searched and found ;P THIS that said, the delay on the vamp2 may be caused not by the floorboard, but the unit itself. there are some vamp users around that will know more than me in that field, i can only recall something like if you changed the emulation there was a delay, but if you stayed with the emulation and only touched the effects there was not. i may be wrong. hope it helps. bye

na, it's not pickups, i know is something with the rest of the set-up, my question is if feedback is just joined to volume or at low volumes you can have loads LOADS of feedback with a lot of distortion. i brought my friends newly bought les paul custom and the problem was the same, and just with this kind of patches. i don't know if perhaps it's just too much distortion, but that's what i want, except for the feedback, any ideas??

ok, i've done a search to try and make a diagnoses, but i'm not really sure. My problem is that with my new rig, new gt-8 going into the return loop of my engl screamer combo, feedback is just unbearable in high gain settings. But when i mean high-gain i don't mean high volumes, i just mean rectifier emulation with a metalzone pedal emulation for example. i keep the level so they match the other presets volume. The fact is that when i choose other emulations i don't get that issues, but when i use too much distortion, no matter what the volume is i get so much feedback i cannot handle my sound. i don't know if it makes sense, but for me the feedback should be joined to the volume, and it's not that much volume. i´ve tried moving around, giving my back to the amp, playing side to the amp, different angles. i don't think is the guitar or the cables, as i just have this problems with for example the stated combination, so i suppose it's just my ignorance. do you know what a problem could be??? thanks for any suggestion.

ok, but the only thing that i should not be able to do with a good plug a good cable and a solder is an air free cable, and that at least would have its consecuences in longevity, which anyway would be much longer than what it takes me to brake a cable XD. is there anything more i'm missing?? at 30 euroa planet waves cable, and i need 4 now, i could be buying myself an ebow and making my own. Imight buy a good one for recording, but, seriously, is it THAT big the difference. i've bought 15 euros cable which were worse than my own made. and i do not have the funds to be spending more on a cable if there really is a reasson i sould shut my mouth at. could anybody answer me about the best cable of the ones i stated anyway, please?? and i really apreciate your advice. maybe when i get a job i'll start buying cables thanx to everybody

hi, i was just looking to save some bugs doing my cables, but for the first time not just the crap i've been doing so far. My intention is to buy some neutrik conectors and solder cable in between, but then, as is surfed the thomann i realized i didn't know a thing about cables. here are the options: cables what does capacitance mean?,i mean in terms of efectiveness, not physics. What should i care about, is it the best just to buy the most expensive (i don't think so, i love behringer) or is there any way i could know what the best option is. What would you use, im more than willing in spending 40 euros in cables and conectors but not in two cables i ain't even gonna be able to solder afterwards. thanx

i will use to play through my amp, as a replacement to having 200 effect boxes, i guess for that pupropuse the boss fits better my needs isn't it??

hi, i just have some money saved for christmas and want to treat myself.... what do you think it is best: 1.- v-amp pro + fcb 1010.........................................334 € 2.- boss gt-8 ...............................................................385 € i just want to know ur opinions as i cannot do a comparison with both in front of me. i guess 1 is more upgradeable but it is not a real concern, reliability isn't that much of a worry too. what do you think is best?? i dunno why but i like it better the boss looks, but all in all i just want a good sound for the money. bye

so, this was a bad question. anybody tried the necks in axes r us, the strat ones for 60 euros aprox. they are not mighty mite, wich i had thought, how are they, will the need a lot of fret job done???

or some neon string they sell for computer modding, they run on 12 volts and will give a cooler effect

hi, i searched radio shack for the 30awg wire and it seems to be insulated, should it be insulated, i can't really tell from the pictures (i wouldn't say so) and search hasn't been helpfull.

there is no problem, the thing is that i was weighing up wether to buy the v-amp, and the fact that i could use a tube input stage to make a little tubey and use the effects on it, sounded a reason to buy it and yet have a new project to make XD. However, you don't like the idea, you think the v.amp will kill any tube sound out, is that true. not that it's gonna put me off buying it, it still is a great tool for home practice and recording, but all this thread is just to feed my anxious ignorance and curiosity , thank you for your time, i hope you are not disapointed with me...

ok, i understand what you mean. i´ll clarify my intentions: i don't intend to open and handle the gutts of the v-amp but carry on the mod externally. this means making a preamp to go pre-dsp of the v-amp. the power amp stage is not in my scope. and i don't mean to make a clean preamp, i want it to colour the signal a bit, i'm not a freak tube that wants to have tube just because i like the glow. i think this is not imposible, and working a circuit similiar to the real-mctube or a fender input stage isn't hard, is it?? anyway, this means all the problems you see are not that BIG problems. the only problem i can have is that in the end there is no difference between the input stage of the v-amp and the tube's preamp. or that i cannot use it because the level is way too high. but anyway i´ll end up with something i can use as a pedal or something to overdrive and get some ugly dist. my idea is much more simpler than ansil, just because i know so less than him XD. i think it's a good idea what i want, and it is inside my 'can do'. i thought by the messages that maybe i hadn't explained clearly what my intentions BASED on ansil´s project were. what do you think of it????

hi, it sounds really interesting, simple and cheap to do, great diy. one idea i see is something i dunno if might be of any practical use or has already been done, but could be interesting. once you have made up all the things to do with the operational and the signal, you could try use something more complicated than just the two outputs from the 555 to controll the level. instead of doing a regular sine, square or triangle wave you could do with something more ellaborated using two 555 or other circuits. i did once a question about this and was introduced into function generation with logical gates. sounded interesting and could be for you, i´ll try to find the link, just in case you wanna have a look. i was trying to do exactly the same as you. wasn't hard to find, i haven't done that many posts ... hope it is of any use. bye http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.ph...8539&hl=tremolo

i´m not sure if i agree with that. if i just replicate a preamp stage with the same levels and use a return input in the vamp that is design to receive those levels i don't see a problem i'm sure i want to try that bagel first one last thing, the fact that i want to know what can be done, doesn't mean i´ve decided that way. before doing a whole preamp for this, i would definitely try my amp's first, that was not answered by the way. so here it goes, and i think this answers more than just the question but something already stated above: Can i just plug my amp's effect's loop output into the pre-dsp input in the v-amp(i´m not sure if it's called liked that)?? thanks for the replys. lovekraft, would love to know if i´m wrong, i´m an ignorant newby but i don't think it's that bad idea... can't wait to hear from you, bye

great, so using the return line in of the pre-dsp insert you jump the input stage, right? that's even better (no mingling inside), but what about impedances, the input impedance for that one is 20Kohm. Now, what if i want to use the clean channel in my engl to go to that input and take the output from the vamp and put it to the poweramp of the engl?? any problems with impedances, i guess not. the thing is i don't have it, but have just made my mind to buy something alike to play home. engl volumes are just toooooo loud. the vamp seems a preatty good toy and really affordable, and for that price i don't mind playing with it. so i have nearly made my mind up. any suggestions?? do you think a mosfet pa would improve sound reasonably as to the engl pa (it is a screamer 50 btw)? cos i have just spoted a really cheap one with 150 watts!!!! (that's really much isn`t it, i'm not familiar with solid state real power) thanks for the info friend, you guys are a huge library of information, i´m glad u share it with us ignorants
