    i'm generally an ibanez man but i tried one of those EB silouhettes and it was pretty nice, i've never thoroughly checked out EB.... might try and get one of those OLP copys and do it up.....

    obsessive locking forums get annoying too where they lock a thread as soon as an answer to the question is posted it's still all about discussion isn't it?

    (diagram) --> (||) (don't do this either) you don't want to tighten the allen screw in this way either as you'll close the stems you can bend them back out but it'll weaken the metal slightly

    you just want to sound each note clean, go slow at first, tap with strength but don't whack it just enough to get it clean don't worry, your fingers will toughen up eventually then pull off...err....the string to sound the next note the pull off is a combo of moving down off the fretboard and lifting directly off

    personally i'm not a cable purist, i just use anything decent but i'm just saying if there wasn't noticable difference it wouldn't have built such a following, and if there is a difference it's not dissimilar to preferring certain strings

    have you ever bought certain strings cos you thought they sounded better? and there's no need to spend heaps of cash, you can make high quality leads by getting good cable and attaching the ends yourself some people choose their amps searching for the best sound... same thing only it makes a bigger difference right?... good leads have less tone degradation and less unwanted noise

    meh.. lots of people can hear huge differences in cables some really do change the sound a fair bit... and i've read the george L and klotz cables do kick ass
