  1. thats from the 80s.....i forget who manufactured those, but there were a lot of those...maybe dimarzio made that
  2. the only difference is that europeans say valve and americans say tube....both the same thing, both correct
  3. thats where i buy a lot of 3m stuff....like frecut sand paper
  4. yeah scott has had a lot of success eating lunch there
  5. yeah i had one...its a great preamp for the price....i highly recomend them for peopl eon a budget......i doubt there was ever a manual for them.....they are pretty straight forward preamps
  6. I put together a little shop tour for our website....i thought you guys may want to see it.....its messy, but we are busy...... Shop Tour Link
  7. yeah gilmer always has some...and he will talk you into black limba
  8. its not unethical, wrong or illegal....actually, most manufacturers source out to other companies.....i think there are only 3 or 4 companies in the usa that actually make their necks....most necks are made by a comapny in northern california......warmoth used to make guitars for yamaha and some others....kramer NEVER made a neck and only a handfull of bodies..... when i got my duncan deal and was talking with one of their vp....he asked who was making my necks.....i said me, and he thought that was pretty cool.....hell, i just dont know any better
  9. limba is getting tough to get, at least here in the states...its starting to be regulated
  10. thats another reason not to buy those cheap asswood guitars
  11. korina or white limba is a tremendous tone wood....the black korina or black limba is the more sought after for tone......its kinda a mix between alder and mahogany.......and its light weight......it has a little more bight than mahogany......pretty well balanced tone wise
  12. nothing spooky or wrong about those trem screws...... scott, you need a black lefty....and its a schaller
  13. i didnt say that, re: warrent, poison, et al..... i said they want bands that can capture an audience
  14. oh it is getting better.....we've had some conversations with some label reps, oh sometime middle of last year......all of the major labels are making the move back to arena rock...the thing that all these boy bands or one hit wonders were missing were the huge concert sales and a dependent following that rock had...they want that all back......last years summer tours of the hair band tour(hair days?) and some other rock groups were put together by some of the labels to test the waters....at the time they projected this summer as the major overhaul....and it seems to be starting....look at all the rock video shows now on: headbangers ball, metal mania, uranium....practically everything is rock oriented now.......it may take awhile for it to evolve into what we all grew up on, but it will and probably soon
  15. i dont know if its worth the hassel......you can buy colored sheets of it pretty cheap cast acrylic sheets this is what gibson and some other manufacturers use
  16. drill a small pilot hole and use a brad point tip
  17. sounds like the bit is walking in the hole
  18. i agree..the 80s were great.....we had the best music, more to choose from....live fast die young.......the 90s sucked.....but it looks like its all about to turn around
  19. thats funny.....the first thing i noticed was that godin is owned by LaSido......who made all the necks for kramer back in the banana days
  20. id go with the pittbull ultra lead then for your sound..its tight and agressive...just be sure to get the eq on the front...the bogner xtc is great...i loved mine until i found a better amp
  21. a variac isnt a power soak.....it doesnt allow you to run the amp at higher volume settings but lower output.....thats what a thd hotplate is for....what a variac is basically a light dimmer for higher voltages.....it adjusts the voltage the circuit sees....eddie used his at about 90 or so volts depending on the venue....because the tubes were seeing too high a signal....he felt this warmed the tone up by lowering the volts...plus it regulated the amount of voltage.....voltage that a circuit sees isnt always 110 volts...it varies......now a days, people will just use a furman ar1215 to regulate voltage and bias the amp properly.....it could eat tubes, depending on your settings...the hotplate definately does the amount of volume a amp puts out hasnt anything to do with the watts.....a 50 watt amp isnt half as loud as a 100 watt amp.....its actually only a few decibels lower.....the formula is exponential.....so if you want a cranked sound but not ear shattering loud, youd need about a 6 watt amp
  22. good freagin luck......its a lot of work....i hate painting, but i like creating....which is why im hiring someone........start out with a devilbiss gun and the go to a sata.....get a variety of tips.....and be sure to match them for what you are spraying as well as the compressor.....most people dont understand that and thats why they have problems getting a nice finish.....the paint should lay down withou any need to sand
  23. are you talking about the deizel amp? i wouldnt bother with that...way over priced and really isnt much or the bogner uberschall? thats what i would recomend for you or the vht pittbull......i had a pittbull for awhile, it was fun...but not my cup of tea.....ive owned several different bogners and they are a real nice amp...my second or third choice
