  1. A friend of mine in ATL has relatives that came to stay with them on Sat. pre-landfall. They are from the Gulfport area. They told him today that everything is gone- their house and everything in it, their 3 cars...there's nothing there anymore. Unreal. Here's some helicopter footage that he sent over. Some of you may have seen edited parts of this on the news programs. It's amazing. http://www.atlantainboard.com/content/Hurr...na_Gulfport.asf Roger- I'll bet he's not very helpful around the shop, but after dusk in NO, he'd be a very good buddy.
  2. Nice move, D! I like it. (It'll remain in this thread as well) Members: feel free to "+1" this post or put it up on other sites.
  3. MSNBC had some great footage of two female cops joining in the looting. I mean, ya need shoes, right? So much for those jobs. We'll just call that tape "Exit Interview".
  4. It's not a real Ibanez, guitar or bridge. The bridge looks to be a copy of the Edge Pro. It's ***not*** a ZeroResistance trem system. The guitar looks to be a not-so-good copy of a JEM: - Strap button on back of body - No JEM ever came with a p/g like that. - No AANJ - Far-too-basic inlays - Machine heads are the wrong shape - Trem cavity cover not countersunk - ...and I don't think the grip is cut/placed correctly. Even with all those bad points, it would make a cool guitar to dink with. Email me a link on where to pick them up. I might get a couple to test with.
  5. Terrible storm, all the way around. As much as we needed the last 2 days of rain here, I would have preferred it come from the west instead of the south. It was still technically a tropical storm yesterday. Amazing what Mother Nature can do: the platypus, the venus flytrap, and catastrophic hurricanes. She's one freaky chick. I've watched a little news (FNC, MSNBC). The devestation in NOLA, Mobile and Biloxi areas is surreal. The cargo trucks scattered like a childs toys in a sand box; the floating casinos washed ashore (some as far as 1/4 mile ashore!), the rooftops of homes being the only visible part, like looking down on a Monopoly game board. So amazing, but in a bad way. The levee breaks the day after the storm must feel like salt in the wound to the NOLA residents. I just tried to contact a friend at Peavey to make sure they made it through the storm. Security personel are answering the phones. No one is in the office this week. Peavey is in Meridian, MS- about 200 miles north of NOLA. I guess the storm was only a Cat. 3 when it hit them. Yeah.....*only* a Cat. 3. It'll be a long time fixing the Gulf Coast. And while lost lives can't be brought back, I'm sure the residents down there will bring back their cities and towns. I wish them the best for the future. P.S.- F**k looters.
  6. We already have rules regarding picture size and the amount per post. Please re-read the rules, and check for updates in the Announcments section. Here's a link for ya: http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.php?showtopic=11235 THREAD CLOSED.
  7. I was fortunate enough to be a tester for the GraphTech Floyd Saddles. I was sent a pair about a year ago, and installed them on my RG-565 (Edge trem). I'm kinda surprised more folks at Jemfest didn't notice these. The one thing that I like the most: THEY'RE WARM!!! Not necessairly tone-wise, but temperature wise. I rest my hand on the bridge while playing, so for me this was the first thing I noticed. VERY comfy. On Edge trems, the fit is TIGHT, very tight. Almost a press-fit. They're also lightweight (duh); about 1/2 of what the original steel/zinc saddles were. Oh, and be careful when clamping down on the string. The graphite threads can be stripped easier than the metal saddle threads. The sustain is still there, maybe an EJ-tad diminished, but I certainly can't hear it. Haven't broken a string at the saddle since installing them. NOTE: These will not work on LoPro-style FR trems. GraphTech *might* do something for them in the future, but don't hold your breath. Same goes for a piezo-equipped saddles/system for these. It's considerably more complicated than the GHOST system they currenly have. Don't worry guys- I'm on your side. I petition them for piezo-ready, LoPro saddles every chance I get. (those who know me understand that one...heh heh)
  8. I thought of that too and while not out of the question I'm not sure I can get all the colors to gel with each other *cough*AboutTimeDesigns*cough* Where do you think I got (Stole) the idea from considering you're the only person on the planet with a doubleneck jem? Thanks for the pics Kev I REALLY Appreciate it ← Heh heh. I'm sure your body is 100x better than the one I have here. The guy who started the project didn't really think it through when it came to the hardtail neck. I've had to 'make it work' with the routes he provided. I really like how yours is AANJ. I'm a little jealous. BTW- I hear that Mr. Vai has a DN now as well. About damn time, Mr. Triple Neck. LOL
  9. Thanks for the compliments, Pott. The beer opener part was just a bonus. :-) AllParts and I are still busting our buns trying to get the Tremol-No out to you guys. It's coming...I promise...
  10. Scott- Looks great so far. I wonder where I've seen a body like that before....hmmm.... I got your email and I'll get the pics to you ASAP.
  11. Bob Moog has passed away. More details here: http://www.moogmusic.com/ For a second, think about all the songs that wouldn't exist without him, and all the artists that wouldn't have had a career. An amazing man. R.I.P., Mr. Moog.
  12. I was thinking of a contest or regular giveaway like that. One idea was "Show Us Your Tremol-No Next To A Nice Rack!" I thought about it for a second, then realized: guitar players...trying to be funny...would send in pics of their T-No next to a stack of Rocktron, Digitech, Eventide, and Mesa gear. So little humor there. If I do come up with something, I'll let you guys know ASAFP.
  13. I've had the fortune of actually working on Paul Allender's "Bats" PRS. I installed a Tremol-No in it late last year: http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.ph...ndpost&p=149324 It's a very, VERY nice guitar. While I'm not a big PRS fan, the inlay work (Mr. Thorn?) is stunning. PRS made two Bats guitars for Paul. The first one was a red flame maple top, and the 2nd one is the purple quilt he still has today (got rid of the red one last year sometime). The inlays are MOP & abalone. Each inlay is surrounded/bordered by a very thin line of 18K or 24K gold. Whomever did this really did a great job. I was impressed. Next time COF is on this side of the pond, and I get to one of their shows, I'll try to take some pics of the fretboard. If I talk to Paul before then, I'll ask if he or his tech have any HQ pics. Perry- I like the little top marker bat. Slick!
  14. Thanks GF. We've done a ton more tweaks to the forum tonight. It's looking slick, and working SMOOOOOOTH. A few more touches and it should be finished. I've got a few hours to spend working on the fonts on the main site. That'll be done by the weekend. Enjoy the site folks, and let me know if you run across any problems.
  15. Hey folks! How about a complete overhaul and a cool new feature for the site? Okay! Then here's what we've got for ya: (1) totally re-vamped site. It's all ASP now, so it should load fast and run smooth. (ALL) pages updated, including the Players page. (1) ASP-based forum! The forum doesn't have an 'off-topic' area, so we can't jack around, but...there are plenty of other forums out there where we can. LOL I want to keep the Tremol-No site as pro as possible, with just loads of info. It'll be pretty dry, but so is the reference section at the library. If ya find any flubs, please email me and let me know about them. I'll get them fixed ASAFP. And, as usual, if anyone has any questions, feel free to post here or email me. I'll get them answered for ya. So, get on the email notification list (link on front page), and sign up on the forum! I'll see ya there! Thanks folks! http://www.tremol-no.com http://www.tremol-no.com/forum/
  16. Well, whatdoyaknow.....one quick search for the word "hanger" and I found this: http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.php?showtopic=12806 Enjoy!
  17. Drilling the SPRING holes deeper is risky, esp. if the holes are angled. Use a sewing needle to check if there's an angle or not. Some are angled; some aren't. If it is angled, and you drill it, you risk punching through the side of the block. That would suck. First, I'd call AllParts or WD and ask them if they have a 36mm block. Sometimes, the sales guys know of a place where oddball parts rest in a box under a shelf somewhere (like that drawer in your kitchen that holds...all sortsa crap. LOL), or they might even stock them. It's worth a call or two. They both have 800 numbers. www.allparts.com www.wdmusic.com My next suggestion would be to put up a WTB listing on this site and others, asking for the correct size block. On some trem blocks, you can trim the SCREW side. Drill the plate mounting screw holes 7mm deeper, then tap that new section of hole. Now you can trim off the extra 6mm from the SCREW side (no one will ever see it unless they disassemble the trem). Call first. Machine if necessary.
  18. From the Fernandes-Japan site: (horizontal) http://www.fernandes.co.jp/p16-burny/rlc/65s/images/s/sw.jpg (vertical) http://www.fernandes.co.jp/p16-burny/rlc/65s/images/b/sw.jpg No- you can't buy that guitar in the U.S. (for obvious reasons. LOL) The pics should help with your initial drawings. Remember: A LP's normal scale length is 24.75".
  19. Whaaaa....me? Nah... You'll have to talk to AllParts about that one. It's not really my call. I do know, however, that units will be available WORLDWIDE from day one.
  20. There's a much easier way to turn your guitar into a hardtail. Anyone wanna post it for this gentleman?
  21. Well, it won't say "TREMEL-NO" in the subject, but it *will* say "TREMOL-NO".
  22. DO NOT "haxor" your thread titles or posts. It's way too tempting to just delete them. Fair warning. Thanks.
