I don't see a neck angle. Is the fretboard going to be high enough to accomidate the TOM?

haha Thats exactly what I need to do at the moment. I have a piece of 8/4 that is about 20 by 14 inches. I need to make it 4/4. I can't find anyone who cam resaw it so I can either cut it down the middle and attempt a bookmatch or plane it down. I really wish I could find somewhere with a saw big enough to resaw the whole thing.

O have a hot rod trussrod with an allen rench, headstock side adjustment. When I place the rod into the neck does the allen rench adjustment go towards the fretboard or towards the back of the neck?

I currently have the V-amp2 and am quite happy with it. However the foot switchthat come with it is lacking. What am I kidding? Its awful. I would like a means to control the v-amp that has more options and more flexibility. I have been looking at the behringer midi foot control. I am not exactly sure what it does. From what I understand I can set different presets on the v-amp to the various pedals in the midi board and use those pedals to switch between them. Is this correct? Can the expression pedals control anything? I have heard of people makoing it the ah. Of course thats the obvious use. Could it control the chorus level, distortion, tremelo, etc?

The next guitar I get done will have either a maple or herry fretboard. I would like to inlay a rose design around the 12th fret. On the 5th and 17th I would like some sort of small leaf design to match. The rose will hopefully be made of purpleheart and mahogany, or some other woods that I may happen upon. Its not definate yet. Here is the design I am planning on for around the 12th fret. It would actually span about 4 frets. I have no idea what I will do for the 5th and 17th. If anyone would like to offer some ideas for those, or redraw the picture above I would really appriciate it.

Ok, I am in the midst of making two guitars. One is a novaxish guitar. It will have a purpleheart fretboard, maple neck, -urpleheart front to body, and maple back. The other is purpleheart and cherry so far. The neck is a 5 piece. 3 i inch pieces of purpleheart with 5 mms or so of cherry in between each one. I would like the body to be a laminate of purpleheart and cherry. The fretboard will be either herry or birdseye maple. What are the acoustic properties of these combinations? All are very hard so I assume it will be bright. I'll try and get some pictures up soon.

Looks great. I just made a laminate neck blank out of purpleheart and cherry. It looks similar to yours, but the strips are in a different pattern. However, mine is a bolt on. For the body I am planning to use a laminate of purple heart and cherry. The front would be cherry and bak prpleheart. The fretboard will either be cherry (has anyone ever done this?) or birds eye maple.

It also helps with the issue of paint easily chipping on corners.

Find the scientific name of the wood. I'm not sure what it is off the top of my head, but it can be easily found online. Scientific names are universal no matter what country you are in.

Can guitar wood be bleached using standard, household bleach or is there a special kind for this purpose?

I believe he means make the design match on the edhes. This however will be impossible.

I did his to my squier. I tryed to coat it with spray, but it was a disaster. Sure, on a regular, hard guitar body, spray laquer builds up fine and is quite hard. But when put on top of a surface that will give way (such as duct tape) it is not nearly strong enough.

I'm not saying it does. I don't know a whole lot about them. However the few people I have found that have played them have said that they are incredible.

There is actually an entire line. They are manufactured by alvarez. Ech guitar design has a different scoop. Each scoop is design to work specifically with the fuitar shape, density, mass, etc. It supposedly cancels out redundancies in the vibrations between body and neck and causes sustain to skyrocket.

The health care system is privatized because people do not have a right to health care. They have a right to be able to access health care. I see no reason to have a middle man. Why should I pay the government who will then pay for my healthcare? I would much rather simply pay for my healthcare myself or with the assistance of a private inssurance company. I see no reason to pay for my healthcare in taxes on a regular basis if I am not recieving any health care. What if I never need a large scale procedure? Wjhere has all of my money gone? Oviously the biggest argument for federal healthcare is that it allows everyone healthcare no matter how much money they have. This is done by using the taxes I have payed. To me this is also rediculous. Frankly, I do not want my money going to treat a heroine overdose, or the injuries recieved by a drunk driver. They have broken the law. They have done something incredibly stupid, and unless they can pay for their own healthcare, then they will have to suffer the consequences of their decision. It is not my duty to make up for other's stupidity. As for the poor in general, I beleieve that the only appropriate means help is private charity. This includes madical care, housing, food, etc. It should only be abtained through private charity. It is not acceptable for the government to provide assistence at the expense of the tax payers. As for the war, like many others, I am highly against it. Reasons have already been outlines nicely. Michael Moore is an incredible director. He doesn't lie, but he twists the facts. I believe he has gone so far as to say that if anyone can find a lie in his movies and have if verified false in a court of law, he will give the person $10,000. Guns, here's a hot button issue of mine. We have a right to own a gun as outline by the bill of rights. Thgis right cannot be infringed upon. The current laws aree already infringing on this right. The key word is that is is a right, not a privledge. I have a right to free speech, religion, etc. Do I need to ask for permission or obtain a license in order to excercise this right? No I should not have to to excercise my right to own a gun either. The common misconception is that this right was included for hunting or criminal protection purposes. That is false. Many say it was also included to protect ourselves from the british. This is part of it, but a very small part at that. This right was included to keep ourselves from becoming the british. The founders of this country recognized that government is inherantly evil and the citizens need a means to protect themselves from it. A gun was the answer. It is our duty and obligation to remove a tyranical government in our own country from power. The day the government tell us we cannot own guns, is the day they should be used for the purpose they were intended for.

you can still have an opinion. in fact, i'd like to hear what people ages 15-17 have to say, because they'll be the next "determinate factor" in the election process. polls right now are indicating two things: voters age 18-22 (first possible year) are showing an amost 15% increase at the polls. voters age 18-22 vote nearly 70% democratic. to hear what the next election might hold in store would be interesting, i think. I'm betweeen 15 and 17 if you are curious. And as I said, I am a rather extreme libertarian.

I think schecter guitars are the best bang for the buck. There quality seems to outdue guitars even twice their price.

Why the lack of choices in the poll? There are far more candidates. They should be up there as well. I would vote for Michael Badnarik. We need a Libertarian president.

It looks great with the top. Very unique. But we better see another one with the laminations showing in the front.

I will be building a guitar in november that will have a purpleheart fretboard and front to the body. I would be interested in knowing the best finishing method as well.

Ok I have been spraying my guitar with nitro. I am still in the process. While looking over the guitar a small screw driver hit it. It caused a white spot to appear. Is there any way of getting rid of this?
