  1. life is too short to worry about grammer and spelling when it comes to internet forum posts.
  2. ask him if he wants a refund and tell him it happened shipping. if he rejects that you can go through some business to get the negative feedback taken off (ask scott rosenberg or bluespresence), or you can possibly email ebay telling them that you offered a full refund in return for the neck, and they may take the negative feedback off. -jamie
  3. 1000 canadian for basswood, quilt maple, maple - walnut and rosewood with active pickups? i dunno if i'd pay that much since it's imported. But if it suits you so much that you love it to death and no other guitar can match it then go for it. One guitar I love is the Dean hardtail import but here in Toronto it goes for 1100 bucks. Pfft, i'd rather buy the Dean Vandetta 2.0 for much less, same wood involved (gotta love the mahog), looks way more awesome, etc. I don't know what your fave. tonewood is, if you have one or not, but why not just buy a fender made in mexico or ibanez bass, add a veneer top, repaint/gloss etc.,add your active EQs you'll prolly have something better than the traben, something you love, cost maybe the same amount and definitly a cool project. i really like inlay and detail but the whole fire scheme on it is just too much for me. i may be a bit biased or an arse here and if it's not "all black and white as you may think" than let me know -Jamie
  4. MDG is having a 14th anniversary sale right now. Check the papers rather than the website because certain things don't apply to certain line ups. This I got from the site since I haven't had time to check the paper yet. Dunno if this deals go for you boys and gals from the united states though. For 1477 bucks canadian you get... Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor 530 with HT Technology (3 GHz, 1MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB) Genuine Intel Motherboard with HT Technology Microsoft® Windows® XP MEDIA CENTRE EDITION 2005 512MB DDR Kingston DOUBLE YOUR MEMORY FOR FREE 120GB Western Digital SATA 7200RPM w/8MB Cache - FREE UPGRADE TO 250GB 128MB ATI Radeon X300 PCI EXPRESS 19" LCD-TFT Flat Panel Monitor DVD Writer-Burner 5 FREE UPGRADES Until Wednesday 7:30pm LCD FLAT PANEL MONITOR DOUBLE YOUR HARD DRIVE DOUBLE YOUR MEMORY DVD BURNER DIGITAL CAMERA i'd imagine the lcd monitor and dvd burner are not available buying this machine since they come with it already, but it would be nice to see the double your hard drive. 2 x 250 gb SATA drives Pretty damn sweet deal if you ask me. I went to sites from Canada looking up individual parts and it would cost me 1600 bucks and i'd have to put it all together. don't mean to advertise for MDG all the time, it's just they always have these deals and people from Canada (and if this applies to the states) may be looking on this thread. -Jamie
  5. thanks Grep. that thoroughbred, barton and that stuff confuses me lol. i could never tell the difference between intels amds and all that. if it runs, runs nice, im fine with it. im not completely computer illiterate. i can do some stuff, but im no h4xor haha. -Jamie
  6. my 70s beatup gibson hummingbird with a martin top (long story, pm me if you want it lol) has those kind of frets. it plays fine to me and i love the sound out of this baby.
  7. are you sure about that greg p? I read here http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleID=1194 that the intels are much cooler then the amd. other than the 2 optical drive problem, hows that DAW (digital audio workstation) look? lol. things to go with that, if its suitable are... rokit 5 monitors presonus firepod (phantom power) with cubase L/E sm57 or 58, and a condenser
  8. saber that mix is awesome. the begining of the solo reminds me of mario lol. here's the computer i'm going for so far. if its good enough i'll be getting it after i come back from Europe... Intel Pentium 4 530 3.0Ghz Processor Intel D915PBLL Socket 775 ATX Motherboard Corsair 1024 gb memory ram AcoustiCase with foam Western Digital / Caviar SE / 200GB / 7200 / 8MB / SATA-150 / OEM / Hard Drive Western Digital / Caviar SE / 80GB / 7200 / 8MB / SATA-150 / Hard Drive 52x32x52 CDRW Drive 52X CDROM Drive 3-Port Firewire PCI Card w/ Internal Header Silent solutions for intel PSU, cooler, fan Sapphire Radeon X600 PRO 128MB DDR PCI-E w/ TV-Out, DVI 17 inch LCD 1.33 Floppy drive this will run be about 1600 canadian (ugh) i tell you, that firepod better be worth 800 bucks haha. -Jamie
  9. i'm spending 1600 of my own money on a new computer 800 on the firepod 300 for the rockit 5s 120 for an sm58 and 57 cubase, and other programs ill be getting for free, thank God. no wait, thank Dema, my friend haha. But that'll save me loads of cash. that's as basic as it is right now, in canadian dollars, and if brought brand new lol. -Jamie
  10. i cant find the mp3 lol. i only see this ad for a 1995 FORD ECONOLINE 150 CONVERSION VAN lol.
  11. I thought the sm 58 dynamic mic would be better. From what I read the condenser mic is mostly used for acoustic instruments, such as acoustic guitar, acoustic bass, violin, etc. so i dunno if you wanna use that with the hi-gain. There really is no need to go for a cheaper version. They're cheap as it is and many musicians swear by them, not to mention since they're so common you'll find a few on ebay or used stores. I almost bought one for 85 canadian used only for 6 months. Brand new in Toronto they range from 120 canadian to 160 canadian. -Jamie
  12. i know of Grit Laskin. Saw him in November, but charges so much for a guitar that only i would hang on a wall because his art is just amazing. I guess i could give him an email and he can tell me what to do there are no pins or screws. is there a site you'd suggest on building a bridge doc, or anyone? thanks. -Jamie
  13. check ebay for the vans. i got one on ebay for my girlfriend, brand new. the only problem with them, like the Chuck D's is that they're so damn thin and can break so easily. -Jamie
  14. Ebony fretboard, no face inlay, side dot inlay = my fave. fretboard! Nigel: I think he’s right, there is something about this, that’s that’s so black, it’s like; “How much more black could this be?” and the answer is: “None, none... more black.”
  15. I used the search in the acoustics section and couldn't really find anything for this so here goes. i have an old 60s yamaha acoustic. it was my moms in her hippie days lol. A nice relic. she gave it to me and now its age i guess is catching up to it. the bridge is lifting off. the specs aren't the same as stew macs nylon bridges. the front of the bridge that keeps the saddle in place is breaking off as well on the right side. the saddle's resting place is very dried out. I thought that I could take the strings off, take a fine razor and take the bridge off, reglue the bridge on, glue the piece splitting on the left side of the bridge, and lube the saddle's spot where it's dry and just hope for the best. Would this work? What other suggestions would you have in mind or should i just hang it on the wall? This isn't a piece i want to give up, it's got sentimental value to me. -Jamie
  16. haha dumpster diving. my uncles friend found an amp in perfect condition in a dumpster. we believe the reason why it was thrown out is because it needed new tubes hahaha. -Jamie
  17. just keep it, fix it up, and then sell it. if you sell it back on the ebay i think you'll lose out. i made a huge mistake myself on ebay buying things. Thank God i found this forum to learn about guitars. my mistake if any one wants to know is that i bought a plywood body for 100 bucks, gah. maybe ill take it to a pawn shop and they'll let me trade it in for something useful lol. -Jamie
  18. sell the explorer then if you really want a V. or get a job, buy a V and pay monthly. You pay a bit more in the end but so what, you don't have to wait and wait and wait
  19. please dont go with dell. select a dell model on their site, go to a site like tigerdirect.com or http://www.buydirectpc.com/index.jsp configure a model with the same exact specs as dell and you'll notice why. I usually find dell overcharges too much, and if you're from Canada you're screwed for technical support because in the manuel it says that for technical support you need to have fully paid for the computer, and live in the united states. At least that's what happened with my friend yesterday. If you live in Canada, go for an MDG seriously. I have 2 in my house right now, one for my dad using the internet and one which is for everyone in the house. I've never had any problems with MDG unless i didn't have a virus scanner or spyware program installed lol. MDG is having a sale right now. Infact they're always having a sale. for 800 bucks canadian right now you get MICROSOFT® WINDOWS® XP HOME Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor (~3 GHz, 1MB L2 Cache, 533MHz FSB) 1GB RAM 250 gb SATA hard drive 32 bit graphics (i think they use ATI) 17" LCD monitor cd burner crappy sound card no speakers corel productivity software That's seriously not bad. I'm thinking of going for it and then get the external sound card (for me, firepod), and active monitors (rockit 5s) and then a shure sm58 and 57. -Jamie
  20. if you want a project go to a local pawn shop and get one of those 60 no names pieces of crap. they arent made of good wood but heck for less than 100 bucks for the guitar, its not bad. You can take it all a part, do a refret job, maybe a scallop, rewire the pickups, repaint the body. Damn it i really miss the richmond trading post here in Toronto. All their guitars were teiscos, kays, and a few gibsons and fenders once and a while. They also had a hondo gun guitar, but wasn't for sale, which really pissed me off. Tons of guitars, all particle board and plywood, not bad for 75 bucks canadian haha. -Jamie
  21. that really sucks for him. if i had the money id buy it, fix those holes and trade it in haha. maybe he did it cause of the colour. that is one horrible colour for any guitar. -Jamie
  22. i also heard that when using onboard reverbs, RAM is very important. -Jamie
  23. "Q: does the guitar include the lady in the pictures? A: Sorry no, she’d cost to much to ship! But perhaps I could include a few extra pics at the end of the auction!" alright, who asked this question? i dont think it was erikbojerik. what about you southpa? -Jamie
