  1. Perry took the cake, and if I could throw another vote out it would definitly be for Maiden's. -Jamie
  2. If we don't like our apology, do we have up to 30 days to return it? Just kidding. Nice to hear the good news. -Jamie
  3. I say save up and get this one. http://guitartrader.com/itempg.icl?orderid...=27&numitems=28 Tt's 439 american, so roughly 534. I say save up between 550-575 (if theres any duty fees and all). Seriously, it looks really nice, especially since it's about 50% off, marked from 899. For that much, that ebony fingerboard better be real. Didn't you buy this one Wes? -Jamie
  4. Wow Blues. You, my girlfriend and I seem to be the only ones I don't know anyone else that listens to the Real McKenzies. There's one song, called Death of a Space Piper, and it sounds like a bagpipe with a whammy lol. Probably squeezing the bag a bit harder now and then. -Jamie
  5. Yes blues. Korn did do that, if you want to call them metal There's 2 other rock bands I know of that uses bagpipes. The dropkick murphies and another band born in Scotland, now living in Canada called the Real Mckenzies. I like the Real McKenzies a lot better. They do write some of their own songs, but they also do a lot of covers of Scottish songs. -Jamie
  6. Yeah bagpipes are expensive. When I went to the Netherlands with my Grandfather to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the liberation of the Netherlands, 2 scottish pipe and drum bands came with us. I met a guy from the band and he gave me his card and all if I wanted to get into pipes. He said it's like 30 bucks for a starter (no bag or anything, just the pipe to change the pitch of the notes and all) and then once you get good, you spend about 1200 for a set of bagpipes. I am guessing it wouldn't be an addiction like guitars, since practically all the bagpipes from Scotland are made the same (types of wood used, different tartans to match the clan or band you're in, etc.), there is really no need to upgrade things, or get a new one unless you want different pitches and all (this is just a guess I am making. If I am wrong, let me know lol). I didn't want to go through with it though because it's way too much money. 30 bucks for the starter 1200 for the bagpipe, when you get good 3000 for the uniform because they get it all from Scottish dealer, the socks are handmade with real scottish sheep wool, etc. One day I'll go through with it though for sure. Heavy metal and bagpipes. I'd love to try that lol. -Jamie
  7. Take up bagpipes. That's one I wanted to always do. Bagpipes and guitars can be an awesome combo. I'm off to the Uxbridge Highland games today, woohoo! -Jamie
  8. Same here. I am thinking of taking electrician courses at college. They probably won't explain tubes and all, but I'm sure it will help. -Jamie
  9. lol red M&M, blue M&M, it's all the same in the end
  10. Tonemonkey I agree with you, that people should learn on their own if they aren't convinced. Also, keep in mind, I made the first refernece which was hearsay comparing marijuana to smoking cigarettes. The second reference only compared the tar. Now I don't know much about cigarettes and what's in them, but, isn't there more than one substance? That's all. The point is though, which people aren't getting, is that marijuana doesn't help your lungs. If you believe it does, then you seriously need to read up on carbon dioxide. And you are right, there are a lot of things you can't trust on the net, which is why when I tried to find the reference for you through google, I didn't click on links that looked suspicious (like geocities for example). However, when I give actual references saying that marijuana doesn't help your lungs, and it's from a website that is more gung-ho for it than anyone else, are you saying that they can be lieing? PLEASE! It's not like Ed Roman's site; ranting on and on saying that every guitar is garbage because they don't do direct coupling, they use pickup springs, and glue, and to back it up he says how patriotic he is and says he sells more guitars a week than PRS. The site I gave to has hundreds of references to books, studies, medical journals, etc. If you don't want to believe it, that's fine, however, I suggest you don't even take advice from anyone at all, because what they can be typing, and speaking can be unsolicited information. Anyways, I'm done here. I've had a good few rants. I have agreed with everyone I have argued against. The point I was trying to make is that when people try to tell me the facts about marijuana from their own perspective and experience, they should stop right there. Just because you smoke it, or hear from others that do smoke it, doesn't make you or them an expert in the fields of marijuana. See you in the other topics. Peace. -Jamie
  11. I'd first like to state that I am not your teacher, so this is the last time I'm going to find a resource here. It's all out there. To obtain it, use a search engine. http://www.hempembassy.net/hempe/wnews18.htm http://www.marijuana.com/marimed/ch3.html under marijuana smoke. Tonemonkey while you do have experience with it, the fact is your observation is flawless amongst the world of science. A cigarette has a filter, rolling papers are just paper, no filter at all. You can get dispossable filters but you lose out on the high. When you have no filter, you breathe in more carbon. Does this make sense? Because that's how it is. I am not disagreeing with anyone here. I just think people should get their facts straight about marijuana. Especially before you jump on the wagon to legalize it. That's true, but just remember, Al-Qaedia burned the Opium fields, and now they're growing them again because that is the largest amount of income for Afghanistan. In Canada, I heard that the Supreme Court of Canada has declared now the Hells Angels and other related biker gangs are considered terrorists because of all the drug trades, or something like that, and has declared them an illegal organization. Who knows if they'll act on it though, and I'm not sure since I heard it through hearsay. Also, isn't opium and heroin legalized in Britian for medicinal reasons? Just wondering. That is if I see him again. This guy was fried out of his mind. All he would talk about is weed and pink floyd. Everytime I'd try and talk about something else, he'd somehow relate it back to weed and pink floyd. This is really getting ridiculous here. I am telling you the facts, giving you the website, and the resources, even quoting some of them and still you don't believe it, and this is why marijuana is never going to be legalized because people think there is nothing bad to it, maybe because it's so "herbal", but remember, there is natually grown tobacco, and that's just as bad as cigarettes. You had a minor cough from smoking cigarettes, keep smoking cigarettes and I am sure that cough will develop further. It probably would take many years for the side effects to show up, but that doesn't mean it's okay. There are people who've been heavy smokers since they were 16, and they are still living with no problems, as of yet. That doesn't mean though that it doesn't cause problems. Look at Keith Richards, you can not see him without a cigarette. He's beeen smoking ever since day 1 he started with the Stones. It could be just asthma, I don't talk to him and he was busy with a teacher at the time, however your claim that marijuana can help asthma I find to be another flawed study, just like the driving one. Why is it that I have to provide the resources, but YOU don't. Why is it that you are all trying to say that the true facts are wrong? Quit spitting on my cupcake and telling me it's frosting. Read the website, it has all the resources you need, including all the information regarding marijuana and the lungs. I have given you the website, a website that isn't hard to remember. www.marijuana.com. The website was started to raise awareness of medicinal marijuana, to give the facts as well as what is good and bad about marijuana. People want to know that before they start doing it for health reasons, because in the end, it could just end up making things worse depending on the disease/illness. They even have pictures of users growing marijuana on it. It is a pro-marijuana site, that is not biased. I suggest before anyone makes another comment regarding health issues, they should check there first. GregP. I agree with you. Just like how they handle alcohol here in Canada. -Jamie
  12. Heck search ebay too. There was a guy selling 1000 red LEDs for 20 bucks lol.
  13. Here's the source. I didn't read it, I just did a google search, but I made sure the site wasn't from a geocities site... "Smoking two or three marijuana cigarettes a day is estimated to have the same effect on the risk of cancers and on the prevalence of acute and chronic respiratory symptoms as smoking 20 or more tobacco cigarettes a day" Reference. http://cannabisheaven.co.uk/vaporizers/how...rizes-work.html I believe it is you that is missing it. I have referenced this site at most 10 times now. It is pro for medicinal marijuana and gives you all the facts you need to know with hundreds of resources, of books, documentaries, mecial journals, and studies. http://www.marijuana.com/marimed/ch3.html Read it again. It's lengthy but it's in there. I'll give you a few quotes. Heck, even I haven't read it all yet. Nothing the Find option can't handle . Both. This isn't saying they smoke both, its comparing those that smoke only marijuana and tobacco, and the studies are showing that they both cause damage which increase the risk of cancer in relation to those who don't smoke. Remember, those who usually do end up getting lung cancer via smokeing, usually get it because they chain-smoke and smoke more than the average person. Studies say up to 50 times or more a day. Have you ever seen anyone smoke up to 50 joints a day? Heck I don't even know anyone or heard of anyone smokeing up to 5 joints a day unless they are in cronic pain or need it with their illness/disease. And that is why they haven't found a single death related to marijuanna, but it is possible. Too much of anything isn't good for anyone, that's a fact. And this is exactly what's happening to someone I know. I go to an alternative school, I stated what that is exactly, so if you want to know go back a page, I will sum it up though - it is not for youth criminals. Anyways, this kid joined the school, and all he does is smoke weed every day. I don't know how many times a day though. I was doing an extra curricular activity with him, but I dropped it later on. I didn't see him until the end of the semester which was about 3 months later. He was telling the teacher why he wasn't attending school for the last 3 weeks. He was away because he's having respitory problems, he's seeing doctors, and he can't get any sleep because of it. He didn't just look tired, but he looked pale beyond belief. He MUST be going through a lot of pain, since at my school, class is once a week and an hour long, and you are given one week to do the homework. jmrentis: Thanks for clearing that up, you're lucky no one else caught on before hand, you were swimming with the sharks there And I do agree with you, it is outrageious, but, I guess we just gotta take the cards as they are when it comes to that. -Jamie
  14. So why the heck do you keep saying alcohol should be illegal? -Jamie
  15. Matt where did you get the dime neck from? someone on PG, ebay? I ask cause I know you were waiting for a neck for a while lol.
  16. Here's what I said earlier... Why are soda drinks beneficial to people? Should we ban those too since the average north american drinks 5 cans a day, which is 30 grams of sugar in a can, which a lot of officials are saying leads to an increase in diabeaties? Should we ban all caffeinated drinks like soda, including tea and coffee because caffeine is a drug, and when the average consumer stops drinking coffee they also suffer from a temporairy withdrawal? I am not saying these things are worse than pot or alcohol, but are they beneficial? The reason why these things were created and/or discovered was for alternative to everything else we consume everyday. In the last 20 years people are finding out how bad cigarettes are, same with alcohol, and same with weed, including the good things it has to offer as well (with weed at least). Same with caffeine and everything else we eat. The benefit to these, when they were discovered/created was to offer a choice when consuming daily meals, and it was never thought to have been abused, and when it was abused, no one thought it was bad for them. It is only now in the last 50 years we are discovering the harsh effects it has, and since it's grown so rapid in the last 50 years, banning it will only create more problems, because it's considered taking someones personal freedom away. If someone ever comes to Toronto (not sure about all of ontario), you will not be allowed to smoke in ANY building, unless it is legally documented as a Club. You think it happened overnight, to ban smoking in restauraunts, bars, and any building for that matter? It took 20 years! Now there is a motion to outlaw smoking and driving (it could pass), and there is a group that wants to ban smoking from Ontario. Banning smoking in a whole province, will never EVER happen because of the money it generates, and the fact that it is considered now to be a right, and/or freedom for anyone over the age of 19. I agree with you that pot is the lesser of two evils, but they will never outlaw smoking or alcohol. The only thing that can happen is tougher penalties. Mothers Against Drunk Driving wants it so that if you drive drunk, and are caught, you lose your liscense for a year, if you are caught driving drunk again, you lose your liscense forever. If you read into the historical facts on pot, I'm sure you'll find why it's all backwards dude. -Jamie
  17. The machine heads look like they're too far out. I say bring them in more, and lift the arches/cut pieces or whatever they are called, a few inches up, if that makes sense. -Jamie
  18. Alright, here is how I got my tone. Keep in mind this is before I knew anything about guitars, amps, woods, and all that. Step 1: The guitar and a crappy practise amp I bought from sears 5 guitars they offered, 3 of them yamaha, 2 of them some crappy brand called nova (particle board if not chip). I also bought along with it their crappy 30 watt practice amp. The great thing about sears is you can buy stuff, return it a month later and they don't care. So if anyone needs furniture, a tv, or appliances temporairly, go for it I tried each guitar in clean and overdrive. I tried one, I then tried another, compared the two through a process of elimination. Nova 1 - strat style = terrible because the frets aren't filed down properly Yamaha Pacifica = Great, smooth playability, sounds really clear to my ear. Winner = Yamaha Pacifica. Nova 1 goes back to the store. Nova 2 - The neck (I think it was mahogany) doesn't have a finish on it. I can feel sawdust on my hand. Yamaha EG112 - Sounds okay, nothing like the Yamaha, but is way better than Nova 2. Winner = Yamaha EG112. Yamaha RGX121S - Thick sounding, great smooth playability, frets are fine, neck is tight in the pocket, sounds great. You get the idea. Tournament style, even though I only had 5. In the end, I spent about an hour deciding on the the Pacifica or the RGX121S, and I made my choice. There is only one guitar I would currently pick over my Yamaha RGX121S, and that's an Epiphone Goth. I have tried PRS, Epiphones, Ibanez and I am just not pleased with them. Maybe it's the radius, maybe it's the really crappy twang it gives me when strumming chords when they have humbuckers, I don't know, but I'm happy with it. There was actually 2 other guitars I almost considered buying, a Schecter 006, and a Dean Hardtail Select. Step 2: Buying the new amp Next thing in the list is the amp. After a while I got tired of the nova amp. The nova amp sucks, and I wanted a new amp. This is months later. So I take my guitar to the store, and I try amp after amp. I asked myself before I wanted an amp what I wanted. I said, "Well, they have pedals for metal which you can change the sound by the EQ on it, and other features if it has it. So, I will pick an amp that has the best clean, especially since a lot of music has a lot of clean involved", then I asked myself, tube or solid state. My current amp is solid state and it sounds way too thin. I tried a few solid state amps and I hated them for clean. I tried a few tube amps and I was hooked. I tried maybe 4-5 different amps (not that many I know, but when you cancel out solid state amps, and you're on a budget, it also cancells out the expensive tube amps like mesa boogie). So I bought the best sounding clean amp to my ears, the fender 4x10 hot rod deville. Now 60 watts of tube power a lot of people say is too much, however for 750 bucks Canadian used with new tubes, I am happy, since it's cheaper than the deluxe being brand new. Step 3: Choosing the distortion pedal that has the sound I want When I bought my pedal, I was currently in the process of looking for the fender amp I want, be either the deville, deluxe 2x10 or deluxe 4x10. I was hooked alread. So now I have the guitar, and have the amp in mind. WOO. Now the distortion. I tried DS-1, and some distortion/overdrive boss pedal through my friend, with my crappy practise amp. DS-1 = don't like it, but when everything is turned up all the way, you get some nice nintendo sounds on a crappy practise amp lol. Boss distortion/overdrive (was my friends) = don't like it. I don't want overdrive, and the distortion/fuzz part or whatever it is, I don't like. I went to the local music store, they were having clearence sales. I asked myself, what do I want in my distortion. I wanted really heavy, thick, distortion. They had only 2 distortions in their store at the time, the boss metal zone, and the digitech metal master. I tried both of them, I had them hooked up together with the fender deville so I could turn one off, and turn the other one on, that way the sound is still fresh in my mind. After playing on different settings for like 30 minutes, being told to turn it down 3 times by the staff because they couldn't hear on the phone, I decided what I wanted. I wanted the digitech metal master because 1. It was easier to use in my opinion. 2. I think boss pedals are too thin. 3. It covered all the bases I wanted it to. So I bought the pedal. So now I have my guitar, my amp in the process of being sought and bought, and my pedal. Excellent. I later buy the amp. So now what do I need to make my "tone" sound better. 1. I need to learn more guitar, and practice, practice, practice! Didn't EVH say that tone lies in the fingers? He's right. Try playing differently. I would strum sometimes too hard, and I wouldn't let me fingers flow, but I learned from that, and now not only do I feel like a better player, but my playing doesn't sound like it's missing notes, unless I actually screw up lol. 2. The only piece of gear I may get to enhance my sound is an EQ. As you can see, the approach I took was extremly simple, simply because I didn't know anything about guitars. Keep It Simple. This is why when I listen to pickup samples online like dimarzio and duncan, I can't tell a difference between some models. Some of the samples of pickups they have are played too fast and I can't hear a difference. At least on EMGs site I can, it's a bit slowed down, and there is a possibility that they are using better equipment. And when I try new guitars, amps and effects, I play chords, be it open or power. If I just soloed for an hour, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference in highs, mids, and lows and sustain compared to other pickups. When I was choosing everything, I played powerchords and open chords and chose and eliminated guitars, amps and pedals simply using my senses; hearing and tactile touch. It worked and still works for me, and you can give me any guitar to try, name it, I will try it if the store here offers it. Heck, Ed Roman can bring his pearlcasters, centurions and all that and I will try it, and even if I do buy it because it offers something that my Yamaha doesn't, I am still going to keep the Yamaha, because it was my first guitar that I bought which brings strong centimental value to me, but it still offers me a sound that I love. -Jamie
  19. TODAY IS THE DAY GREGP lol. I have tried 2 sets of guitars with EMGs. One had 81/85, the other had 81/81. One was through my amp, a fender 4x10 hot rod deville, another was through a really gross piece of crap 2000 dollar too much Orange amp. I did not like the EMGs at all. I thought the tone was garbage, and I thought they were thin sounding compared to my stock pickups on my yamaha which gives me more bass. However, I am going to go and give it another go, who knows, I may come back here and have bought them lol.
  20. Exactly same here. I go to an alternative school, and before I go any further... An alternative high school in Canada is not where low-grade kids, mentally challeneged kids, or kids in trouble with the law attend. It's a school where a student chooses to go to for an alternative way of learning, in my case, it's a lot like university. You go to your class, you're there for an hour or so, you get your homework, and you work independently. Independent study. At this alternative school there are some of the brightest kids I've met, and some of the dumbest. There's one guy who smokes weed everyday, and all he can talk about is weed and pink floyd. He told me he wants to learn how to build guitar amps and possibly become an electrician. Something about that just scares me, not because he smokes weed, but the fact that he smokes weed EVERYDAY. He can barely speak proper without slurring or doing those HAR HARRRRRRRRRRR laughs. I dropped the class that he was in and I didn't see him until the last week of school where he was telling his teacher why he hadn't attend school for the last 3 weeks. He was having respitory problems in his lungs, couldn't fall asleep at night and it was hard for him to breathe. So let's recap here. It says that 1 joint of marijuanna is equal to 22 cigarettes. 365 joints of marijuanna a year x 4 years of highschool 1460 joints of marijuanna in 4 years. x 22 cigarettes 32 120 The kid in 4 years has smoked equivilent, if the study is correct, up to 32 120 cigarettes. GEEZ! No wonder your lungs are crap. I wouldn't be surprised if you got cancer by 20 if you keep it up. And this is the problem. Those who want it legalized will be fighting an uphill battle, where the hill continues to become steeper and steeper. More kids that do marijuanna now, are doing other drugs (I am not suggesting it's a gateway). The problem is when politicians see that, they come to the conclusion that it is a dangerous drug then. That's my 2cents at least. -Jamie
  21. Crafty I'm sorry to hear that stuff. That kind of stuff really hits hard at home, however I know people right now that NEED marijuanna. They are against it, but they need it simply because if they don't take it they have to be bed ridden and not live an everyday life, or take another drug which is not as effective with much more serious side effects. This doesn't mean they drive under the influence of it though, because people that do use it for medicinal reasons are MORE responsible than those who don't. If you think that someone who is dieing chooses to take marijuanna instead of the more chemically made drugs which is a huge profitiable industry in the Western world, which can cause more damage and not be as effective, therefore adding the current problem on top of the side effects, well, that's just pretty shallow, sorry to say. And this is why I agree with medicinal only. I really don't see the point in drugs for a personal high. I don't see the point of getting together with friends on a weekend to get drunk, and/or high. And I especially don't like hearing how teens and adults use it when driving. Weed is not my cup of tea, or my idea of fun when there's millions of other things to do out there other than that. I have never tried it, and I won't try it until the time comes where I need to rely on it other than the other perscribed drugs out there. The best high is doing something you love whether it be guitar building, performing on stage, going to work, or just living your life everyday, etc. PS: I don't know if anyone saw this Dr. Phil episode (yeah he's a bit of a moron, but my mom watches him and the computer is beside the tv roughly), but they had a teen on who was addicted to cough medicine and almost died a few times from ODing on it. It's going to be wonderful to see the day when the stats show a huge amount of people dieing from it, and comparing it to marijuanna. -Jamie
  22. Uhhh, I don't think Wes was going against weed to alcohol in terms of death. The article which discusses driving under the influence of weed being okay, is total b.s, is what he is saying. And he's right. You don't need a scientist, or doctor to tell you that. Marijuana is a DRUG, whether it's illegal or legal. If people are stupid enough to get stoned and can't control their speech, one of the easiest functions that a human can do, what makes you think they can control their ability to drive? Straight from the source: "For most people the primary adverse effect of acute marijuana use is diminished psychomotor performance; it is inadvisable for anyone under the influence of marijuana to operate any equipment that might put the user or others in danger (such as driving or operating complex equipment)." http://www.marijuana.com/marimed/ch3.html Under summary and conclusions. Yes it says dangerous and complex equipment, but that is what a car is. A car can be a dangerous piece of equipment. 100 may be a small number, but it is lethal when in mp/h or km/h coming into contact with anything. If you still don't believe me, ask a driving instructor whether it's okay to drive under the influence of weed. Just because you or someone you know smokes it and they say they're fine when driving, doesn't mean that it is, and it's obvious that they've been doing it too much that it's causing their ability to even think clearly. Like I said earlier, weed is the safest recreational drug right now, and it should be legalized for medicinal purposes, and if it were to be legalized completely, I wouldn't argue. However, you have to keep control of what you are doing by setting limits and boundaries, like everything else. This is why people get pissed off with alcohol and driving, just like weed and driving, cell phones and driving, and many other things that involve driving. Driving is a priveledge. A liscence may be easy to get, but it can be even easier to have it taken away. -Jamie
  23. The quote things weren't working, so just look for the bold I am not saying that alcohol is better than pot. I am just stating that if you are going to make alcohol illegal, and waste the police force's time and resources, then by all means, go ahead, and watch other crimes go up, which is exactly what's going on right now with pot and grow-ops in Canada, which is why cocaine and meth are being used nearly as much as pot. Don't think so. People smuggled it in, the word got around, people were willing to pay for it because they believe it was a freedom to drink whatever they want. Everything has physical withdrawl. If you were to stop eating meat and become a vegan, you'd get sick because you feel the effects of your body not intakeing something it's acustomed to. Those who do it for the sake of animals may not feel the actual craving to eat the meat but they still do suffer from withdrawl temporairly. And those who do it for health reasons and couldn't care less about the welfare of animals, still feel withdrawl, but for a more long-term period. Remember, being a vegan is not eating dairy or meat, and this includes more products than you could think of. That's just one example I am giving Here's a list of drug withdrawl symptoms. http://www.marijuana.com/marimed/ch3_t2.html If you still believe that you can't have withdrawal with weed, I suggest you stop right there, because that site is all for medicinal marijuana, and there are most likely people who just smoke it to relax on that site. This site tells you everything you need to know on both sides. So is cocaine and opium. Cocaine grows in columia and other south american nations, the reason why people die from it is because it's laced and laced and laced with meth, and other chemcals. The chances of you dieing from an OD are much higher in this case. Look up homemade alcohol on google. You can take a can of frozen mccain juice, mix it with water, put it in a closet for 5 months, and you'll have the cheapest wine right there. Is that man made in a lab? Not really, it's juice mixed with water mixed with humidity. Someone posted earlier why pot was made illegal in the united states, also there was a show done on either discovery, or the learning channel starring Woody Harrelson called Grass. Alcohol is big business, like cigarettes, and the fact is, it wasn't created in the first place to be abused, and this is where Wes is right. People who don't drink responsibly face the consequences, just like anything. If you don't take care of your guitar, expect it to be broken. When doing studies they compare responsibilty to abuse, and this is one reason why alcohol is legal still. More people are responsible with alcohol, than people who abuse it, wheras with Weed it's becoming more and more abused. This is why I believe medicinal only, however if it was ever fully leagalized, I wouldn't complain or anything. I agree, but they've done shows on why, and someone posted in the beginning of this topic about how it became illegal in the united states and all. Is there a benefit to having pot legalized? Only for money making purposes. Is there a benefit to having pot legalized for medicinal reasons only? For helping people cope with there illness and disease, and in Canada with free-health care, that costs the government, and they won't make any money of it. The reason why these things were created and/or discovered was for alternative to the things we consume everyday. In the last 20 years people are finding out how bad cigarettes are, same with alcohol, and same with weed, including the good things it has to offer as well. Same with caffeine and everything else we eat. The benefit to these, when they were discovered/created was to offer a choice when consuming daily meals, and it was never thought to have been abused, it is only now in the last 50 years we are discovering the harsh effects it has. I agree with skibum here. Hemp has many benefits, and it is a complicated issue to a certain extent. The thing is though it will become legalized eventually. Our former prime minister Chretian said he'd try it if it ever became decriminalized or legalized. Bush has admited to doing it along with cocaine, and his daughters have admited to doing it as well. -Jamie -Jamie
  24. The last thing we need is another prohibition on alcohol. Think of all the police you need to put on stoping homemade brewries. There isn't enough police as it is according to officials, but they could be saying that because to them there is never enough. I am not sure. In Toronto, here in Canada, the police force has a special drug squad, and they are so busy taking down grow-op houses filled with marijuana, that they don't have enough cops and resources to concentrate on other drugs like crystal and cocaine, which is rising in usage with teens. I think if prohibition was brought in again, the cops wouldn't even bother. Heck in Toronto if you are smoking weed some of them don't even bother, from what my friends tell me. It doesn't just cause damage to the lungs. Click here, this site is pro for weed, but it gives both sides. It tells you everything you need to know, including dangers and concequences of overusing it. And they have already brought up the issue of people eating it in whatever form. It doesn't work. You don't get the same "high" effect which is what you need in helping the cronic disease. The site link I gave you talks about all of this. The two most common reasons, if not the only, for people wanting medicinal marijuana released is to help cronic pain from a disease, or help prevent a certain illness and/or disease from taking place. The site link I gave you talks about all of this. The reason why marijuana is so dangerous for the lungs is because there are no filters on it like on cigarettes. You can buy disposable filters, but people don't want to, because you don't get the same high effect, and I do believe it prevents what marijuana is supposed to do, therefore making it less effective. I'm not sure where I heard this, but I heard some country (I think Britain, i'm not sure) legalized a drug that is considered illegal here, and the usage in the drug has effectivly dropped. Maybe I had a dream about it and don't know what I'm talking about, so just ignore me then if I am wrong If it does get legalized in Canada, they're either going to do it like the Netherlands where people can grow it, only up to 5 plants (I think that's how it is) and only for personal use, no selling to others. Or, they will control marijuana like they control alcohol here in Canada. It'll be government owned, and to get it you have to go to a special store owned by the government, in which all profits goes to the government, which they use for public spending either in education, health care or something else, which will then cause grow-op houses to effectively drop, putting more police resources on drugs which cause much more damage like cocaine and meth. -Jamie
  25. I'll believe that study when it is confirmed by a source that's not posted on a pro-weed site. By the way, driving is a privledge, and this is why it ticks me off to hear about these morons that keep driving stoned and drunk. Probably another reason why teenage drivers are terrible today when it comes to driving, along with their cell phones, and stereo systems being louder than an 18-wheeler driving by. I'm sure if you asked a professional driving instructor, they'd say the driver should not be under the influence of alcohol, weed, or any drug, and no using cell phones. My father was a professional driving instructor and some of his old friends from the business he belonged to wouldn't have a radio on no matter what volume, or allow the wife to talk because they considered it a distraction, which could lead to an accident. You may think that's nuts and/or funny, but it doesn't look good when you're a driving instructor and you get into an accident. If people want to do weed fine, do it on your own time, don't tell me everytime you see me that I should get into it because it's fun, and don't tell me that it doesn't affect your driving when it is clearly known as a drug (bad or good, it's still a drug), which alters the mind ability. Do you really need a doctor or some scientist to tell you that it's okay or not for someone to drive while under the influence of weed? Just try and have a conversation with a teen that smokes weed everyday, or when they are under the influence of it. There's a few of them at the school I go to and all they can talk about is weed, how fun it is to smoke, and pink floyd. I've met adults that claim they smoke weed everyday and they can at least bring up more than 2 topics. Medicinal use only for people who actually do need it for their chronic pain, whatever it may be, or as a stress reliever even. If people want to use drugs for recreational use, that's fine, but seriously, for me, there are better things to do in life then to sit around with a joint, having the munchies and laughing at random things. Do you think that they will ever legalize weed? In Canada they have these rallies for pro-weed and for legalizing it, and they interview the organizer on the news. The guy looks like he hasn't showered in 3 weeks, and unemployed. When a politician sees that, I don't think it impresses them at all. -Jamie
