  1. They make push/push knobs; you press it to engage the tap then press again to disengage, as opposed to pulling to engage then pushing to disengage. They're really easy and quick to use.
  2. "In keeping with this, I used a very old staining method which involves heat and nitric acid to bring about a reaction with the natural sugars in the wood." Interesting
  3. http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Tools/Special_tools_for_Routing/Control_Cavity_Templates.html This one? The template on the left is the template for the 'lip.' You'll probably want to raise it up/make a thicker template out of it depending on how long your router bit is.
  4. I have a floyd rose routed body from them. Absolutely terible, there was splintered holes through the trem cavity route and the other routes were all wonky and off the centre line. You are essentially buying a useless plank.
  5. Tape idea is neat. Can't wait untill I try my hand at a neck, I don't have a jointer though... You reckon I can still do it?
  6. Push on knobs won't work themselves loose. Infact my lespaul with push on knobs has given me less trouble than the screw knobs on my horizon. Try guitarpartsdepot: http://www.gpdusa.com/Knobs-Les_Paul_Style.html Why so specific about your control knobs by the way?
  7. Nice idea for the pickguard. What's with the binding being thick and white on the bottom and on the cutaway?
  8. ^^Gonna have to agree with Souls, maybe take even more pics
  9. Sorry I got it in to my head that you were an aussie, reread your post and AU stands for acylic urethane I'm a dunce some times
  10. For finishing, stalk a guy on here called Drak. You'll know why once you see his work From memory he is an advocate for using CA glue as grain filler, but I really can't and don't want to speak for him, so search away
  11. Thanks for the link to the kits man. How's the quality? By the way have you tried ebay for cheaper clear coats? Good luck mate EDIT: Welcome to PG, there's a fair few of us Australians on here
  12. The Italico got my vote, it's kind of a PRS mashed together with a Gretcsh. Love it.
  13. Try viewing it in a different browser. Try google chrome, it's pretty reliable. And free.
  14. "The trends that will make life better, more enjoyable, more interesting, lie over the western horizon." All that from a pickup hey? But yeah I think splashing out on some BKP's isn't so bad in comparison
  15. It's a cool idea I guess, but it's really not what I want personally from a guitar. At the end of the day I just want to plug in and sound good. If I've learnt one thing it's the more complicated your rig is, the more likely it is to stuff up and give you a headache. To each his own though, this is coming from a guy who plays a les paul straight into a Marshall JCM800 afterall (Yes I know, I'm an 18 year old cave man) Thanks for the linky though, always good to keep up to date with our instrument of choice
  16. Looks like your knee would fit nicely under the dragons jaw. Can't be as uncomfortable as my RR anyway... What's the reasoning behined keeping it flat? if I may ask.
  17. Only use the distance between where the highest and lowest string enter the bridge. And yes the clamp is in the middle but measure from the edge of the nut that faces the fretboard. Hope this helps.
  18. Find a high-res pic of one, blow it up to scale and print it. There's a tutorial about it on this forum. http://www.guitarsatbmusic.com.au/esp/guit..._latvala_gd.jpg Found one for ya
  19. That pick guard is really sweet. Good work, man.
  20. Good month for the metalheads amongst us! Still... had to give my vote to the Scattervarius, looks like a pretty sweet fiddle for jazz.
  21. When my wood goes missing it's because my family have found it and decided to use it for something else... Like a cheese board.
  22. Bought a body from them... Couldv'e done a better job with a machette and a blind fold. Don't do it to yourself
  23. It would seem that you build as well as you play. I'm off to practice Seriously top stuff man, got me wanting to try something similar.
  24. Is that a tiger claw behined the bridge?
  25. Yuck, solid black guitar. You're doing the world a favour mate
