  1. Yeah, I know about the Mesa/Boogies. Tri-axis x2 and DC+ Mk. II (I have "Rock Dicipline" DivX). I wanted to know if I could nail his tone using the V-Amp II (its potentials). I am aware that at least 80% of the tone comes out of your fingers... There is a good story on John Suhr's site about that... Here it is: mullmuzzler | OSSMT
  2. I would opt for a PVC lacquer (it looks like glass!). But, for in-touch-with-the-nature look, oiled finish seems like a decent choice. mullmuzzler | OSSMT
  3. It is very interesting guitar (there are a few pattern variations: 3 for the body front, 3 for the body rear and 3 for the headstock I think). I like it because it has old neck joint (not that I'm a fan of it, but it reminds me of 80's). It is kinda "flower-sixties-age-of-aquarius-man guitar (who said: Strawberry Statement? HEHEHEHE). mullmuzzler | OSSMT
  4. Hey, Daveq, how about posting some pictures of the bent top (or I have missed it)? mullmuzzler | OSSMT
  5. I use CorelDRAW 11 to trace aruond the scanned images... But you can use any type of software that makes vector images. mullmuzzler | OSSMT
  6. I was going for 19 mm@1st fret anyway ... I like Wizard neck, but this time I'll try the thicker version... Just to se how it will turn up... mullmuzzler | OSSMT
  7. Oh, I see you are wearing your sneakers now! I thought I (didn't) smell something!!! mullmuzzler | OSSMT
  8. What's "bocote"?! mullmuzzler | OSSMT
  9. Looking at your avatar and judging by your projects, I would say that you are a hardcore JP fan!!! How thick is the neck on your JPM7, man? In fact, how thick are JPM necks (both Ibanez & EB/MM)? I've read in some interview that he gave to "Guitar Player" back in '93 or so that he used to play B.C. Rich guitars before he went to Ibanez and that those necks weren't thin as regular Ibanez production necks... mullmuzzler | OSSMT
  10. Let's say that it is recessed-trem body... 45 mm thick... OFR trem... mullmuzzler | OSSMT
  11. OK, In the Ibanez catalogue from 2002 in the "neck dimensions" under the "UV/RG7/K7" says that thickness is 21.5 and 23 mm at the 1st and 12th frets. Is is possible that they made mistake? Does the 7 string aquire thicker neck because of another string? Can it be thinner and maintain stability at the same time? I need dimensions of a Wizard 7 neck (thickness, width and radius) if any of you can provide. mullmuzzler | OSSMT
  12. How about a depth for a direct-to-wood mounted pickup on a 45 mm thick body? mullmuzzler | OSSMT
  13. I need a 7 string trem for my guitar. Can you suggest brands and prices cause I can't decide + I cannot spend too much cash for it. BTW, Brian what's the story about the 7 string trem that is on your universaljems.com site?. What brand is it? Any good? THX mullmuzzler | OSSMT
  14. Playing au naturel like the greats of Mark Knopfler & Jeff Beck, aren't we? That's a technique worth learning. I've studied classic guitar myself for years and It is completely different approach to playing and tone. mullmuzzler | OSSMT
  15. Your 2 cents needed on the subject! Have anybody idea how to acieve JP's tone? What does he uses besides Mesa Boogie and Dunlop? Can it be even remotely nailed on a guitar processor like Zoom 707 or V-Amp? mullmuzzler | OSSMT
  16. What ferrules and screws are used for the AANJ from the back? Where can I get them and at what price? mullmuzzler | OSSMT
  17. Hey, man! Welcome to the forum. As far as the 7s go, I would opt for basswood body cause its less or not muddy at all for low B. mullmuzzler | OSSMT
  18. Can I add myself to the sending list, please? mullmuzzler | OSSMT
  19. Yeah, man. This thing sucks big time. It's a piece of paper (or something) with a graphic of a nice wood applied with a vacuum press as AlexVDL said. My Jackson AT-X had this kind of finish, purple-ish one. Fernandes used to make this "photorealistic" finishes on their guitars, I don't know if the do now. I think they still do . the bottom one. mullmuzzler | OSSMT
  20. I hope this poll will become the most visited one on the forum, it is so mindwarping!!!!! mullmuzzler | OSSMT
  21. That's really nice guitar, man! You scored, BIG TIME! I didn't know that RG470s are built with maple boards. mullmuzzler | OSSMT
  22. I'm not big on Telecaster-shape, but yours looks re-e-e-e-ally good, especially the wood. It is awsome!!! I think the headstock is kinda overshaped, right? mullmuzzler | OSSMT
  23. Looks very nice. Is that your custom shape? mullmuzzler | OSSMT
  24. What did you use to make a channel? mullmuzler | OSSMT
  25. Alex, Is there any chance of doing Universe and RG 7620 templates for the Download section as well? And how about necks? mullmuzzler | OSSMT
