  1. Just me for the reverse firebird then Forgot to add the Les Paul Double Cut as wel as most of Myka's guitars (they seem to go straight up my flagpole), especially this one. http://www.mykaguitars.com/instruments/009/default.htm SCWINGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!
  2. Reverse Firebird every time (with banjo or the gearless tuners on so you can see the pegs). Loooovly
  3. Hey man, just seen the reply. How's the catching up on sleep going Congratulations
  4. Funny you should say that. I always told her that when we had a kid, I was going to call it Dweezil. We came to a deal that she'd let me call the cat Dweezil (which it is) if we called the kid something else. I agreed, but my folks andmy mates have all said that they're calling it Dweezil no matter what it's called, even if it's a girl. Decided to join them.
  5. Well done mate. Hope things all work out this time.
  6. Yeah, I didn't learn to swim until I was quite old (about 10 or 11) so I want to get them into it. The wife likes to go swimming and we're going to be doing a bit of it for some gentle exercise while she's pregnant. I'm having trouble walking at the minute as my knees gone duff again (can tell it's cold) so we need to do something. Still at least I've more or less quit the beer, so that''ll help loose no end of weight as I'm a real ale drinker. Went to the doctors yesterday and all seems OK, but nothing really happens until we see the midwife soon as they do all the actual work. Then in the middle of next month some time, we have our first scan. It's all very exciting..... except for the cost of buggies, I can sell the old BMW on my drive and still have no change left over
  7. Might have some pictures of the conception, I could start there if you want
  8. Found out just before Chirstmas that I'm going to be a dad for the first time. She's nearly two months gone, so we're letting pople know. I'm well chuffed, even though she's not letting me call it Dweezil.
  9. That axe at the top is badass. I'm not usually a start man, especially with a burst but that's lovely. Welcome to the boards
  10. Maybe mold some frets into it. Well big metal edges anyway. When I'm not so busy, I'll have a sit down and have a think about this.
  11. I know one of the top cabinet makers in the country and he just cut half of his thumb off on a bandsaw (well left a little bit of skin holding it on). I think if you happen to use things tolls for all of your life then at some point your quite likely to do yourself a mischief sooner or later.
  12. I'm not too sure that CF would hold up to being a fret as well as a board. I would think that the strings would wear through it fairly fast.
  13. I agree with Woodenspoke. I'm sure that it could be done, but the area around the neck sounds like a right bitch. Sounds like something very easy to go wrong. I should imagine that you could put a plate of some description over the sound hole so that you have a centre hole for the router guide, but that will only get you to within an inch or so of the neck (or whatever the width of the router base is). To get this section on either side to carry on the routed circle and still look really neat is the issue.
  14. Hiya Dean from another brit Down in the countryside, just far enough away from Leicester here. Drinking tea and having a medicinal ciggy My mates a single parent, looking after two kids and my hat goes off to you mate. Not an easy thing to do. Sounds like you'll like it round here, but I bet you start laying in bed thinking about how to make big piles of sawdust soon. It's bound to happen if you're around here for too long. I haven't been to Manchester for ages, last time I went I ended up in ©**** (S)treet for a few pints which was quite good fun (I'm starght BTW ). See you around the boards. EDIT: mmmmm, interesting editing by the filter there, that was supposed to say "Canal Street". It's the main gay area in Manchester and somone has painted the C and the S white so it now says "an*l treet" which I found highly amusing.
  15. Dunno about postage but these have some cones around £15 http://www.resound.uk.com/Accessories/index.html EDIT: Although when i was looking for the link, they all seemed to be a lot more than I remembered them.
  16. I presume that you can't get cones over in SA, but they're not very expensive at all over here. Have you got access to a lathe or anything because I have heard about people spinning their own? I once wondered if it was possible to make one from a speaker cone by a bit of bracing and a new (stronger) ring, but didn't do anything about it.
  17. It's bloody cold here I can tell you that. As the tone is going flat then it would suggest that the guitar has shrunk rather than stretched, so I haven't got a clue
  18. Are they hung on internal or external walls? External walls are much colder. My acoustic is on a constant trip around the front room at the minute, it normally rests in the corner against the front door but it's way too cold and draughty at the minute.
  19. Pro-Engineer is king ............. Although I can't use it and use AutoCAD intead
  20. I cut all mine off about 14 years ago.. crap, feel old now
  21. I prefer to think of it as a big bucket with a hole in the bottom. When you pull the plug you get a rush followed by a trickle.
  22. When trying to understand electrics (which I still don't, which is unfortunate as it's the industry I work in), then I found it a lot easier to thkn of it all in terms of water, it's a lot easier to picture what is going on in my head that way. Have a look a round the net, I'm sure there must be something similar somewhere
