    just saw that tele, and i must say, wow. even tho i usually hate all things fender (too overcopied/overplayed/overrated), that is one gorgeous guitar. great work.

    wow. i just got the greatest idea. would it be possible to inlay optics on the front, instead of pearl or ivory, etc.? i like the side dots, but fronts dots would be killer.

    i've always been told 500k for HB volume, 250k for Single volume, 250k for all tone.

    maybe a bad problem... i went to test fit the p-up mountin ring for the bridge bucker, and the screws are 2 short. any ideas? anyway, got the routings all done, except for the control cavity. need to finish the pickguard first, so i know where i want the knobs. i expect to be done with the body by fri. gonna paint once i get a job and $$, so dont expect that for a while.

    2 things: i LOVE that property of magnesium. u have noidea how many bonfires ive started with a little magnesium from chem. class and some water usually, i ignore that little voice. hes justa wet blanket

    well, mister art doesn't have white or black, so any place u know of where i can get them? also, i'd have to get a spraygun too, huh? i think i'm gonna do this one with cans, then if i plan to do more, ill invest in some better tools. rite now im kinda on the no-job-barely-paying-for-current-parts budget.

    so, $$ wise, dave, the stewmac nitro compared to createx? for a Randy Rhoads V, black with white pinstriping?

    so should i use the black gloss nitro lacquer from stewmac after a grain filler and sanding sealer? and then nitro clear coat, right?

    so, say i wanted to do solid black, but with blue stripes, and a high gloss finish? how many coats of each, clear, etc.? also, any good retail stores for spray cans, or is the good stuff all online?

    i would say that if you already have holes drilled in the body, and the neck is pre-drilled, you should be able to cut off the two screws to the right length, so they stay short of the fingerboard. just make sure the end don't mushroom, or it'll never go in.

    just quit my job last nite. so long, mickey d's!!! the best part about it was the freedom. on the way home, absolutely no regrets. i think im gonna get a job at the local video rental place. once i get some more chex comin in, expect another project outta me!!

    gotta agree with LukeR. I especially like the first drawing in the book, where the guy has cut with a chainsaw, not only thru his project, but the table and his arm as well. funny stuff.

    ok, got my parts tues., started assembly. still havent found a router, gonna hit the hardware store tomorrow and rent one if i cant use my uncle's. got the black gotohs into the unfinished maple headstock, and wow. it looks amazing. i cant decide whether to clear coat it or just leave it unfinished, like i am with the back of the neck. i hate that sticky feeling to a finished neck. the p-up mounting rings look great, chrome on black. chrome knobs (1V 1T), chrome Schaller-Floyd bridge, chrome Schaller locking nut. i think i'm gonna go with a gloss black finish on the body, to accentuate the chrome and so the p-guard offsets. i got about 20 pix left on the throwaway cam, so pix comin when thats finished.

    i hear ya. i'm the same way with strats and LPs. overrated, i think.
