  1. It probably has to do with how they're accessing the internet. It takes time for data to propagate across all networks sometimes due to various caching issues.
  2. Well I don't blame you for it. If he'd stole my crap I'd want him to pay and pay heavily (I am, after all, saving for a new car). by the way, Jellycaster III *droooooooooooooooooooooooooool* (and I had to go to 5 Home Depots before I found the Minwax Blue I used on my custom Ibanez, so I feel your pain)
  3. Hey, Bill. Betterbytes.net is down, period. Think he's just cutting and running?
  4. I think he's responsible for my favorite line in life. Seriously, my favorite statement in the whole universe: "You will get USEFULL hacking viruses"
  5. Y'know, I don't know Ed Roman. I've never dealt with him personally and I seriously doubt that I ever will for several reasons. Not the least of which are the negative experiences that several people I know and trust have had with him. Also some of the statements he's made on his website give me the same feeling as that car salesman who tried to sell me two different "Certified" BMW 7 series, one with a broken steering wheel and the other with a broken trunk and stereo (specifically I'm thinking about how he LOVED Ibanez guitars then, when his contract got cancelled he not only started talking badly about them, but *ALL* Japanese guitars. There are other things, but the xenophobic statements have always struck me as asinine). Look, Ed might be the sweetest most kindest mostest honestest businessman ever to crawl from the womb, but that's not only not his reputation, but that's not the impression he gives a good number of people who've attempted to deal with him. If you want people to stop speaking badly of Ed it might be good to get Ed to stop giving them reason to.
  6. Negative feedback seems to go like this with this guy. "I found all of this information free on the internet." "Response by Better Bytes - You're a terrorist!!!!" "The information was out of date and incomplete." "Response from Better Bytes - You eat babies!!!!!!" Yeah, at this poitn I don't feel bad for anyone who'd buy anything from this cat. If you're that stupid...
  7. CARLTON'S RARE WOODS & VENEERS (404) 876-1144 1130 HEMPHILL ATLANTA, GA 30318 This place is in midtown, a buddy of mine got some seriously nice veneers there, might be worth a shot.
  8. Anybody think that maybe they meant "New to Carvin", not "New to the planet"?
  9. There are a couple of places here, but their names completely escape me at the moment. I'll have to call up some buddies of mine who go through a lot more wood than me. You might have to leave the city, tho. I have a feeling that your best bets are going to be up 75 or 85
  10. Well, interesting thing is. the guy apparently lives in Buford. Deliverance was shot in Buford (this was before Buford became home of the largest shopping mall in the southeast). coincidence? I think not.
  11. As much as I appreciate you volunteering me for violence, I'm too pretty for prison. I think this should be handled nice and legal like.
  12. Thought this was funny: Mission Statement BetterBytes forges business solutions through integrity, customer involvement, and corporate efficiency. We exist to make our world and our community a better place. BetterBytes achieves this goal through value added alternatives that streamline business systems. Please note, in addition to the ripped of PG stuff they also sell hacking tools. Because, you know, integrity (not that you can't be a hacker and have integrity, just that the little script kiddiez who'd buy crap from him are probably launching DoS attacks agains mcdonalds.com because their parents wouldn't buy them Tony Hawk Underground on Tuesday).
  13. Well, the thing is, he might have a record of complaints logged at the BBB, If you're bringing legal action against him a history like that could go a long way.
  14. BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU OF METROPOLITAN ATLANTA INC (404) 688-4190 100 EDGEWOOD ATLANTA, GA 30303
  15. No, nothing so immature. I was thinking of reporting him to the local BBB and/or Chamber of Commerce. If they have a physical location it would be easier to go in, pick up a copy of their crap and present it as evidence that these guys are selling what amounts to bootlegged CDs
  16. Hm, I live in Lawrenceville (it's an outer suburb of Atlanta), that PO Box is probably even located at my post office (there aren't a lot in the city). I wonder if they have a physical location. By the way, you might want to contact the USPS, selling your stuff via the mail might constitute shipping stolen goods via USPS/mail fraud, which is a big nono.
  17. I read this and, well, Ed Roman is a moron. Even when he has a valid point.
  18. The reason that guitar isn't sold anymore is because Parker Bros. (which owns the rights to the Ouija board) sued ESP for copyright infringement. It's entirely possible that anyone making a mint selling Ouija stickers would find themselves on the business end of a cease and desist order. Not that you couldn't. Just that you couldn't do it a LOT
  19. I used to work for a huge corporation. I have a healthy level of cynicism about them. As far as I can tell that page is a gallary of one-off guitars. The assumption that it's going to be a mass marketed thing seems to be a bit unfair.
  20. Pretty cynical attitude, no? Jeremey built a 9/11 guitar, too. Just because you build something doesn't mean you're "capitolizing on a huge tragedy" y'know.
  21. I have an old 9002 professional unit (yes, the one you stuck to your guitar strap). Did their distortion sounds ever get better? 'Cos the distortion on that thing was HORRID. Thin sounding, more fuzzy than crunchy. I've often thought about getting more zoom gear, 'cos all of the other effects were amazing, but the horribleness of the distortion has always stopped me.
  22. Just a thought, 'cos this is all new to me as well. Adjust the saddles so they're smack dab in the middle of their travel range. Put the bridge so that the saddles are in the proper position for the scale length (that is, 24.75"/25"/25.5" from the nut) then mount the bridge. That way you have the max possible intonation adjustment in either direction.
