  1. Hi Speedy, Your answer is interesting. Never thought of that. Never heard of it either. I wasn't aware of the fact you can put a floyd flat on the body. Or did I understand this incorrectly?
  2. For the first guitar I took a Fender style bridge. Just because I think it's easier to install.
  3. Leave the guitar as it is. Paint the wall behind it
  4. Hey TSL, should I get you professional help. That kind of hardcore can be a hazard for your health. Specially Frans Bauer is known for the fact that he can be the cause of a brain insult. Please switch to Koos Alberts, Gert en Hermien or Heintje
  5. It looks absolutely stunning, I love to hear it too. I must agree totaly with Jehle. I used to work in a music store where they sold very cheap acoustic guitars. There bridges were glued on top of the paint as well. When winter came and we had the heating on in the store, some bridges came off with a loud bang. Please reconsider this carefully Strings through body will be an excellent solution. Good luck and cheers
  6. When you're making dessert and draw an explorer headstock with chocolate. When you see a poster of a band you don't recognize the members but know the name of the band by seeing the guitar. When you here a great song you can sing along with, you have to wait for the guitar solo to know what band and song it is. When you are buying a tool box for the tools you are going to need on your next project guitar.
  7. Hey TSL, since you've already bought it can you save me $800 and send me a copy? Just Kiddin' I use Cakewalk with a Roland D-10, MT 32 and some other **** Greets Gerard
  8. At the moment: Helloween - Keeper of the seven keys part I & II Thin Lizzy - Live and Dangerous Thin Lizzy - One Night Live (with John Sykes) Vinnie Moore - Meltdown Jimi Hendix - Hendrix in the West
  9. Maybe a stupid question, what is a scoll saw?
  10. Absolutely love it!!!
  11. By the way, The little dark wood just in the middle between the pickup's is that where the wire's run? I've made me a special tool to make such a channel. I've bended an old screwdriver wich was made from normal steel (in other words: a cheap, very cheap, screwdriver) in an angle of 90 degrees. Grinded a kind of drill head on it and made the hole. It took one hour and a half but I think it was worth it. You just push the head in, turn a little and pull it back out. That way you can make a small hole.
  12. Yes, that's what I mean. Love that guitar Too bad my explorer got only 3 vote's though Greets
  13. Hey Wes, Just enter your V. You have my vote cause I love it. besides there's nothing in the rules that say's you can't enter if it has been on the forum Greets Gerard
  14. Are the pieces with the grain in the same direction? If so, you can easily plane them by hand. If not, you have to be very carefull not to rip to much wood off. Sanding is an option, start with grid 80 go up to 200 or so. But remember it's easier to take wood off, than put it back on. Please send pictures!! I'm an explorer junkie
  15. I have read this topic and didn't realize that the placing of the neck pickup was so important. Maybe an idea: make the fretboard so that after the 24th fret the neck pickup is placed, but the fretboard has only a 24th fret on the high E and B string. The fretboard stops on the low E on the 20th fret or so. Then place the neck pickup straight against the fretboard. The neck pickup will be tilted but with the right pickup it wouldn't be a problem. Maybe this is a useless reply but hey, I'm trying to think along
  16. It's 2000 posts not 200 Minor detail, just one zero
  17. Hi, I have both books. It doesn't matter which book you buy. They're both great. If you can afford it, I should say buy both! serously, In my opinion both books are great. Hiscock is a little easier to read (for me) so if I had to make a choice I would go for hiscock. Gerard
