  1. loll nice average there and for the hardtail, what would it be? anyways, thanks man!
  2. bah... since i don't live in the US, i'll just go with steel rivets.
  3. meh the only problem i can see now is being able to measure THAT precisely! If i measure from a fret, should i do it from the top of it or what?
  4. btw, just a question... How would I rout the neck pickup cavity (on a neckthrough) with the fingerboard in the way?
  5. Is the illustrator pen tool the same as the photoshop one? Cause I use that A LOT.
  6. aight, SORRY!!! I made a HUGE mistake. enough kidding around now
  7. I guess i'll use the stew mac thingie and hope for the best OH NOES!!! 0.01" !!! AHHRG i'm gonna die. (sarcasm) Just like this... how much error in measuring can I do with a tom? If i follow these measures but make an error of 1-2 mm will it still be enoughly adjustable?
  8. I'm interested in that book! what about shipping to canada?
  9. Also, i was thinking... If i take my treble post and angle the bass one, won't my strings be closer to the treble side than the bass side? like... not centered??
  10. I think it's starting to be stupid to make lawsuits over SINGLE-CUTS... They're all somehow similar and they've been around a LONG time ago. Why dosen't gibon sue all the hollow body jazz guitar compagnies that did those a long time b4 they did? I really think it's stupid.
  11. ehrm... i don't understand that 75% thingie : / I'm just wondering how can I make sure that I make my holes at the right place so i'm not screwed... My scale lenght is 25" btw... thanks
  12. well... those who did some neckthrough... how did you clamp everything???
  13. Hey everyone... I decided to ask a question about the thing that worries me the most with my guitar: Placement of the Tune-O-Matic I kinda realise that this is the only thing on the guitar body that could make the guitar play wrong and be pretty much useless... What i'm asking for is how do you make sure everything is at exactly your scale lenght and at th right angle and everything? Just tips and stuff... thanks!
  14. ehmm... I would think they are good, because i VERY rarely have seen a Carvin guitar wich someone changed pickups... I also think they're cool
  15. man, please... DON'T get a bronze BC Rich. Just go for something else! lol btw, if you're beginning, you don't need a 100w amp!!! And your friend having one is really far from being a good reason to buy one. I'm starting to be fairly good at guitar and i play in a 30w bass amp, wich sounds WAY louder than enough for any practice you could think of. And since you probably won't be doing gigs so soon, you really shouldn't shell out like 600$ for an amp like that.
  16. nah, i don't think the 7$ more will get me something better... since i saw that at home depot after all... (they had like 2 pattern bits)
  17. alright man thanks... only problem is that a damned pattern bit costs $25 CDN round here (at least all those ive seen)
  18. Is the router part any good? Thats what i'm gonna use to rout my guitar... Got the Mastercraft one too Haven't got a chance to actually use it though.
  19. ehrm... back on subject there I mainly play my Spector nt6-c guitar right now... My only electric . When i feel like it (usually all the time... just not these days :/) i play my Ovation Celebrity deluxe (has a nice flame maple top, too...) once it's done, by the end of the summer, i'll be playing my 1st build
  20. that's my question Maybe i should cut them, then stick (with double sided tape?) the wood i cut back on the body so it's stable for clamping and THEN i would shape everything to specs?
  21. well... i had to do it 4 times cause i didn't put the right ones since they're staggered i took: High: 1L/1R Med: 1L/1R Low: 2R So now it's a reverse 4/2 set guess it's the best way i could find... anyways, i have a headstock angle so it won't change much.
  22. hat about fretless? would midi be possible?
  23. just a question... for a neck-through, what i better... Glueing the wings then cutting it with a jig-saw or cutting them with a band saw than glueing them (and how would i glue em?)
  24. HAH! hell yea I had a nice canada day! a Jesse Cook show in montreal! This dude's a god... It was just SO great!!! This week, its the Montreal Jazz Fest too, so more nice (free) shows
