  1. quick connect started around 2002. All earlier models have direct wires coming out of the pickup that you need to run to the pots. The only advantage I see out of the quick connect is that it makes swapping out pickups a lot faster... which is nice in the shop, but I don't see a useful application for the typical guitarist.
  2. I personally think a truss adjustment is in order. However, if that ideas has already been passed, and all the action ajusting/basic guitar setup ideas have already been tried, then go ahead and take it to a tech and have them see what they can do. If I were to work on it, that's how I'd go through troubleshooting it.
  3. oooooooooooh. I get it. I still use CA glue
  4. Gibson could learn something from you. I'd be mega-proud of that guitar!
  5. I like the artwork because people will be like, "That's a pretty sweet explorer!" and you can be like "Yeah, I made it out of some furniature I found at a flea market" and then you can turn it over. I love when people do that
  6. I think this is a pretty neat tool! I don't quite know how accurate it is, as I haven't had a chance to test it, but it does give a pretty thorough and user friendly explination for what the neck angle should be
  7. The ground wire in passive pickups eliminates buzz by diffusing. A ground wire in active pickups is like short circuiting. Basically, your battery will drain a lot faster, and if you touch whatever you're grounding to, you'll become a ground and get shocked. That's my theory anyway. i don't know crap about electronics, but I decided to see what happens one day and that's what happened
  8. Glass technology has come a long way since the colonial times in the US. It should hold its shape these days. I have a granite countertop that I use for all of my leveling purposes.
  9. How creative! I've never seen anyone bind an F Hole. It totally works with everything else too!
  10. Its the Iommi flaw! Like the paint imperfections on his Old Boy guitar. I say go with it if there's no repairing it
  11. I'm looking forward to seeing this. Can you youtube the process at all?
