    Ok...that was a better explanation. If you wind the string around the peg 2 times by hand then you are definately going to have some string slipping when you tighten the machine. Its just the strings slipping into their final resting posistion. After you are finished how many winds around the peg do you end up with? Probally more than the 2 you started out with. I would suggest not doing it this way, try the way I explained above and I doubt you will have string slipping issues.

    That is your problem right there. Pull your string through the peg, rest your palm on the fret board around the 3rd fret and then at the nut pull the string up and away from the nut about 2 inchs and begin to tighten the tuner. This will give you about 2 complete winds around the peg.

    Actually I really like that one! The new design of the horns drastically makes it look less BCR Beast looking!

    Mailman, sorry but I think you have taken the body all together in the wrong direction. It doesnt look right at all anymore to me.

    I definately like the version that is a bit more pulled in. This last drawing is almost on the money, possibly make the lower horn a bit less wonky and you got it I think.

    Here, I kind of gave it a shot. I slimmed it down a bit to make it more sleek looking and pulled it some parts so it had a bit more movement. I removed that horn there in the middle. That thing really seems like it would be a pain in the ass on the for-arm.

    No offense to Matt but I dont think his design works at all, first the bottom section he changed completely conflicts with the rest of the bass. All of the other lines are very round and flowing, then all of a sudden there is almost a 90 degree square that looks like it was just cut off a BC rich warlock and pasted to the rest of the body. It just doesnt look right. He does have the right idea about it being changed though. Just my 2 cents. I would take the original design and work with it a bit more...

    Its either the action is just a bit too low or you have a low 15th fret or a high 16th fret. Id take it back and let them know about it and possibly check to see if the frets are level.

    My old band played a show with Summon a few years back...any way, should make a cool guitar.

    Mailman.. You obviously are not listening. The end of the fret board has NOTHING to do with bridge placement. Both Nate and guitar guy have already gave you a correct answer.

    Damn.. I thought the same exact thing as RGGR!! Other than that stuff allready mentioned it looks pretty good so far.

    Bytrix is correct, measure from the inside of the nut the crown of the 12th fret then double it, that is your scale. But his statement about fret placement is off.... It matters where the frets are because they are placed according to the scale length. If that neck is say a 24.75 scale and you place your bridge according to a 25.50 you are going to be SOL as your frets will be all outta whack.

    That looks like an "Edge Pro 2" to me.... If you take it off, on the front of the peice that goes down into the body it should say Ibanez if indeed it is an Ibanez trem. I dont think any companies have started to make that design beside ibanez anyway.

    That system 112 looks very tempting....... id just hate to spend the money on it to still have this thing be a sloppy turd.

    Pott..Ive done that all.... Ive had 9's and 11's on it this past week, pickups at all possible heights. Im really starting to think this guitar is a dud in disguise

    Actually.... that has been sitting in the back of my mind and ive been fearing that it is the actual guitar itself that just sounds like poo.... I was really trying to stay away from Active but........... It might come down to it. Thanks for your input. im still going to simplify the electronics bigtime though..

    I allready have the 3 way and it fits into one of the holes for the tone pots. Im going to leave the 2 outside holes and fill the middle one and also fill the mini toggle holes. Im pretty sure a dowl will work perfect, if any one has better idea please clue me in. Ill have to refinish the guitar of course but it will be fun.
