  2. erm... i think he means something like a soldering iron/knife hybrid for use on plastic materials...so using heat to cut through the plastic?
  3. http://forums.invisionize.com/index.php?showtopic=104309 the above thread may be some use for future reference (ie. stopping this happening again) and psw...i dont think that they targetted us specifically...its not like their parents were killed by luthiers or something its robots...they're evil!
  4. if you search in the inlay & finishing section for comic book, you'll get a multitude of threads regarding this
  5. PG wasn't the only forum to get hit that night....made me feel like the world was against me - couldn't access anything
  6. <insert obligatory 'birds nest wiring' joke here>
  7. stratoblaster works great for that purpose http://aronnelson.com/gallery/TheBigMan-La...s/stratoblaster i replaced the boost control pot with a switch, so i can select between two resistors, meaning i have the option of ''slight push'' and ''crunchy as hell'' i havent got around to replacing my output jack with a stereo one yet (to cut the battery off) and i haven't changed the battery in about 2 months, still works great.
  8. for some bizarre reason i have them on my pc. http://www.thehappytent.com/prssc.dwg single cut and http://www.thehappytent.com/prsdc.dwg double cut alex, if you want me to remove them just lemme know - just trying to be helpful
  9. http://moosapotamus.net/THINGS/ringsqueezer.htm read for yourself, after sleep i can remember where i've read things
  10. if size isnt an issue, you may want to put a compressor in there....from what i remember the green ringer benefits greatly from it. infact, theres a orange squeezer/green ringer in one box on someones site....but cant really remember
  11. iirc the sound of the ff can be altered by the volume controls on your guitar? but as the controls will be there too i dont know if you'll be losing any control
  12. its sound great, apart from that fact that it keeps on cutting out if i hit too hard...a part of me thinks its probably misbiased transistors - but really i have no idea as i am quite the newb it was built from a build your own clone kit...and cost me nothing when i bought the delay, as i was rather mean to the supplier the switching idea would be cool, the only success ive ever had with modding a circuit is the stratoblaster in one of my guitars...you can switch between slight boost and a fat overdriven sound, my favourite new toy -dan
  13. yeah, but the original poster wanted cheap
  14. £3.80 each?!?!?! http://www.rapidonline.com/productinfo.asp...;moduleno=65222 50 of your european cents from here.
  15. my pedalboard is a mish mash of junk really: cry baby wah big muff danelectro phaser line6 uber metal line6 echo park loop/delay/reveb thing (cant remember off the top of my head what it is, but i love it) and self made ones on there: parallel universe (everyone needs one...maybe i should start a charity?) stratoblaster smashdrive tonebender mkII and what i want next: tremulus lune crash sync another parallel universe with exp pedal some more phasers, because they love me.
  16. nah, not really - there was a link somewhere for a synth made out of cassette players....but i cant think of anything else right now
  17. the send and recieve are like inputs and outputs (respectively) so you take a cable from the send of the amp to the input on the ge-7, and a cable from return on the amp to the output of the ge-7 alternatively, you could just use it like a normal stompbox with the guitar going into the input of the ge-7l, and the output going to the input of the amp.
  18. http://www.electronicpeasant.com/projects/...gs/springs.html this tells you how to make a reverb tank using a slinky, might be useful to you
  19. to be honest, you'll be lucky if dropping balls of solder onto it made a good solid joint, as the component that you're soldering is meant to melt the solder - not the soldering iron.
  20. How can I measure how much current my pedal is drawing? From F Peña: You have to interrupt the circuit measure current. Do this: Set your DMM on DC/mA. Plug only the - side of the battery to the battery snap. On the + contact of the battery, touch the red probe and on the free contact of the battery snap touch the black one. You should get the reading on the meter this way. [taken from http://www.diystompboxes.com/cnews/FAQ.html ] and tonemonkey, those are just dpdt switches - and mighty expensive too
  21. did you make the pcb layout yourself paul? i dont recall ever seeing one on my travels.
