  1. I found hand drills a very good option to make precise holes, but still a pain in the ass to get them aligned.
  2. Looking at this picture, I can guess why you've lost the gloss... seems like you've polished in a perpendicular way at some point. That's a no-no. I would also suggest to mask the fretboard before doing leveling and crowning next time, to protect it from, you know... incidents. By that way, you don't touch the fretboard between installing the frets and putting the strings.
  3. Once the fretboard is polished, I don't touch it anymore. And I certainly don't need to touch it to install the frets. I don't use glue at all, the tension of the strings is enough to keep them in place.
  4. Working over that pickups exhibitor must be motivating... Welcome to the forum BTW.
  5. Looks great, congratulations!... the best sapele back ever.
  6. I like cloudy photos more than sunny... they give me a closer idea to what the instrument looks like. I personally hate those hard reflections from direct light.
  7. That guitar looks fantastic... the only thing I don't like is that pickups are not fanned. Besides that, it reminds me to a Daemoness: top notch work!
  8. There's an application you can install on your computer... then you have a folder in your hard disk which is synched. All you have to do is put your files there (wait for upload) and copy the public link with RMB. Actually is a pretty straightforward process, but agree that the web option is not so easy.
  9. Love those frets BTW, I think I'm gonna try that in my next build.
  10. If you don't have the public folder, create it in the root. You can have subfolders there for every project. Then, click on the image with Right Mouse Button and select "Copy public link". That's the link you have to paste in your posts. Attached a screenie, sorry for spanish interface: Hope this helps!
  11. It is a common issue from Dropbox newbies, it happened to me the first time as well... that's why he can see the pictures but nobody else.
  12. Hi, you have to place the images inside the "Public" folder... otherwise they are private only.
  13. Sorry for the mess and congratulations for the restoration... nice to see the whole process in a row. Those last shots are amazing, can't believe... and do you apply wax afterwards maybe? Micromesh is what I need!
  14. Uploading the images to the PG server seems to be a nice alternative in long term - I agree with Prostheta about the empty builds - but it is a pain in the ass when you want to insert a bunch of images in one post, due to the small WYSIWYG editor window. It was way easier before, when you could edit the post in code view and just copy/paste the image URL and renumbering them. I'm using Dropbox since 2009 and all my builds are still there... If you're looking for a better solution, I would recommend it.
  15. I like that wengé top flushing with the body... very nice. And the headstock looks killer!
  16. Nice clean build... I love the woods, the templates, the tools, the shop... you lucky!
  17. Hi guys, thanks for the kind words and votes... and congratulations to VerhoevenC for his Forest, really beautiful singlecut design and very interesting electronics.
  18. That would be great, if you have time and the expertise... ^^ but I just was curious,.. I didn't even googled it, cause I'm not really in a need, so no worries. custom pickup covers is something I always wanted to make, but never tried... so never researched. Thanks very much for the offer!
