  1. No problem . I should be working too .
  2. A half-dim (A min7 b5) instead of that C dim if you're being diatonic (C dim has a Gb which isn't in the key of Bb.) Everything else makes sense.

    Gender test

Don't feel too bad. I'm 37 . There are even older here. We can learn a lot from them old farts .
  4. Don't know what it'd sound like but it'd be VERY heavy. Titanium is almost twice as dense as Aluminum . I had (still have in parts ) a 70's Kramer with an Aluminum neck... quite heavy. I liked the way it sounded though . Pedantry rulez!!! :D
  5. Heh, I think the LSR's look great ... but the do look weird when installed on a headstock with standard spacing for regular tuners. I really like how they look clustered close together like on the Teuffel CoCo.
  6. Have you tried adjusting the truss rod (probably loosen a little bit)?
  7. How 'bout steel? Maybe a little heavy but I think that it would work. Has anyone done it? Steel rods were discussed here: http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.php?showtopic=4112 Yeah, the consensus was that it'd be too heavy.
  8. Turn your head to the left when you cough! How much do you want for it?
  9. That guitar is a beauty! Heh, I wish I still lived in Portland . Enough for three necks, eh? I've been wanting to make a steinberger L shape from all rosewood (or cocabola.) The shape is small enough I think to make two full guitars from that same amount of wood. Heh, but I should practice on maple first . Hmm... I wonder what a full ebony guitar would sound like? Assuming I could find big enough pieces... I wonder if it'd be too bright sounding . Dare to dream! Again, beautiful guitar... enter it for GOTM if you haven't already!
  10. I'm curious why 23 frets instead of either 22 or 24?
  11. Hmm... I wasn't going to post anything in this thread but I have a couple of different pick grips that weren't mentioned. I usually hold a pick much like krazyderek's third picture most of the time but I occasionally use this reverse/perpendicular grip (for a lack of a better term .) Weird thing is, I started picking that way to even out the pick's wear pattern . It has an interesting sound. Another idiosyncratic thing I do is slide the pick up my finger for cascading arpeggio, for example, for something like this: e |-16-12-9-4----| b |-12-11-5-0----| g |-15-12-8-5----| d |-14-11-6-4----| a |--------------| E |--------------| I'd use fingerpicking without the thumb. I seem to have learned how to slide the pick in and out of that position quickly and smoothly. I think it'd be a good idea to learn a whole bunch of these different picking styles.
  12. YESSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GATORS RULE! i like the purple, blue and green, i shift between those 3, but always gators!! Are they flat? The Dunlops I've tried way back when (I think they were the Tortex) were all irregularly curved that they affected my picking accuracy. I've been using Clayton Acetal picks for soooo long, I wouldn't mind a change .
  13. Have there been flying V basses made by anyone besides gibson or epiphone?
  14. No, no locking nut as the bigsby doesn't have fine tuners. For a bigsby, I'd look into a roller bridge, locking tuners and a slippery (graphite, roller or even bone with a drop of oil) nut. Sorry, don't know about where to get in UK .
  15. Judging from the pictures on their website it looks very straight forward. From their FAQ:
  16. No! Not a recommendation... hence the smiley. That's what I had around when I was a kid... way before I knew about stew-mac, heck way before the internet (in it's current form .)

    ESP M-107

Heh, I noticed that too . I think the left handed pic is flipped because the "LTD" is correct for the right handed pic.
  18. While contemplating vladdrac's electric to nylon string conversion: http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.php?showtopic=6941 but with a 7-string starter guitar (to better emulate a nylon 6-stringed guitar's string spacing) I found this on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...ssPageName=WDVW it's at $100 US (plus $35 s+h) as I post this and I have a feeling it'll sell for quite less than $200... but it's paypal only so that excludes me. For the aforementioned conversion, I was thinking, sell the pick-ups/electronics, pickguard and bridge to help finance new nut, pickguard material, acoustic bridge/piezo and pre-amp like vladdrac's has. Good project for cheap!
  19. Read here for some info... basically you could provide valuble information (like a tutorial), contribute $10+ US to pg.com or reach the 2000 post mark (hopefully meaningful posts .)
  20. This one? http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.php?showtopic=439 As for a pre-amp, vladdrac used a $70 US Belcat in this http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.php?showtopic=6941
  21. I was wondering that myself as I'm used to seeing round bottles for titebond. I checked the titebond website and they do make it in that shape that's in the video. I also noticed they're making titebond III now. Oh, and before this thread is too side-tracked... the rest of the videos are cool!

    Funny music

A Heavy Metal Bobby McFerin! Kid Charlemagne is cool too .
  23. Hmm... at 13 I was listening to Gary Numan. "Here in my car, I feel safest of all. I can lock all my doors, it's the only way to live."
  24. Now that's a band I'd love to see. That was a life changing experience for me at the tender age of 14 .
  25. Heh, there are some faces from the past on the main page! Oz Foz?!?! The videos look cool. There are so many of them, I've only watched 4 so far. I found these on pin routers: http://popularmechanics.com/home_improveme...7/2/pin_router/ http://www.intarsia.net/e-book/pinrout.htm
