  1. ok bit rubbish and im now actually thinking of doing it red as i think it would look sweet. but its only for a rough idea.
  2. I was thinking of doing that makes the build slightly easier, however im thinking of doing it all natural anyway so wouldnt make anydifference to the overall appearance. I have a dodgy PS image sorted but i cant upload it atm will sort it out tomorow.
  3. I really like the shape as it can adopt either a carved top or a flat top. Im just going to stick with a flat top at the moment as its only my 2nd guitar and im going to work my way up. But at least this gives me a shape (and templates) which i can then use for a carved top when if i want to do one. I will have another bash at a mock up but it may still only be a very general idea but i can see it in my mind and looks good. Ive been told by my parents im not alowed to start till ive done my last one tho Ahh well have to save up for parts yet anyway. Im thinking Hipshot trem, Dimarzio EJ custom pups and Grover Locking Tuners. Also this is going to be my first neck im building too which worries me a little bit but should turn out ok if i just take my time

  8. just not my thing. so half bad. But each to their own if u dig it thats all that matters yea? T
  9. trans white finishes ive seen on a custom shop strat they just put it in the clear coats was as simple as that. and the black burst ive been working on it and do lots of layers of black sand back then when its nice and deep start wire wooling it down... worked for me on my test piece im going to do the guitar when it warms up a bit as its freeeeeezing here at the moment. T
  10. I will tell you how it goes and if its worth it (im sure it will be) after the 1st term or something. T
  11. Hey folks, im off to london (guitar-x guitar school) in 11 hours so im not going be on for a while but once my project is finished i will pop back with pictures and sound clips (as i know everyone wants to hear this Q tuner pickup). I will be on very rarly as im gonna be spending most of my time playing (and not having the internet) but i will pop back when i have some free time to see new guitars (and possibly new inventions). Good luck everyone with future builds and i wish you all the best. T
  12. Ive sorted the neck out already and i cant feel much difference but looks alot better, and i know that the bottom horn does look tiny but its actually the same as on my rg i think it must have been the angle of the pic or something. But update pics in the next couple of days. Oh and the piece of wood im using came from a huge plank that i have loads left of will have to go towards my PRS that i will one day make... but i have so many guitars i want to build. T
  13. ok its been a while (Been busy) but ive got it sanded and ready to stain i will do this tomorrow as i only have a week or so left (times running out!) but i will get some pics once ive stained. T
  14. but wont the strings just flop out of the nut? surly this is why you would need a locking nut, and does your bridge have fine tuners as ive found that all my floyd guitars go slightly out of tune when i lock them... T
  15. hahahah yea i want to build/own 103289890321 guitars too. I can always remember people who uses double necks (or even triple necks) but never the name of the song so heres a few i can list off the top of my head, Steve Vai (triple neck), Paul Gilbert, Justin king (check out the vids i posted about on a diff thread its an acoustic). T
  16. why dont you leave it as is and do a neckpocket similar to the prs style? im sure that would work i dont see why you need to cut it out so far if your wanting to do a bolt on style neck anyway.
  17. i like that design but again not 100% on the slanted pickups.
  18. heal was rounded today and holes drilled for neck, perfect fit everything seems ok so far! now i just need to cut out the holes for the bridge. T ADDED: here are some pics, next im doing the bridge which has all been marked out now i just need to buy some screws, how long should they be roughly? as i have to go out and buy some. pic1 pic2 pic3
  19. PINK!!! lol nah this guitar and pink is like trying to eat soup with a fork... now you could do it but you will be mocked forever for doing so. T
  20. he plays in DADGAD on both necks. T
  21. My friend sent me a link to a website the other day of a guy who turned out to be Justin King... now all i have to say is WHOA!!!! i wish i could play like him its such a unique sound and feel to his tracks, heres a video of him on the Doolin Guitar Website And heres the link my friend sent me 2nd vid T
  22. i love the look of that i think it will really suit this guitar well.
  23. Ok small update ive sanded it to get rid of the burn marks and smoothed out the contours. Im really happy with the arm rest and belly cut out as they are quite "roundy" like on the js and suits the guitar quite well. Im drilling out the neck holes this evening (hopfully) and then sorting out the heal over the next day or 2 (if i have time) then lots of sanding. For the finish ive decided on a charcoal burst like this one - But there will be no join in the middle (obviously) as its one piece body, and wont be as extreme as on this one. And i will sort out the nut if i have to and decide then. (would quite like a metal one) T
