    I have the Fernandes and im happy with it. Last week i tried a Jackson guitar with Sustainiac, and i got the impression that the Sustainiac maybe was a bit more powerfull...if you know what i mean. It could be the strings, set up etc. Anyway, i think a sustainer is one of the coolest thing to have on a guitar.

    I have a 28 5/8 " baritone tuned to F#. For the F# string i use an 85 bass string and it works great.

    Using the 5 way switch on youre guitar must be much faster than a pedal. Look at Malmsteen on youtube (he goes from bridge to neck very quick) and practice.

    Its not maple. I would say basswood. I have ss frets on one of my guitars, and they are great.

    if im not wrong the Fred is a high output pup, and the malmsteen singlecoil is low output...personally i dont think they will match togheter very well. i have tried them both.

    Maiden used some synth guitars on the Somwhere in time album.. it would surprise me if they used it live. But..what do i know

    3. The sustainer dont need to be off when using the neck pup, but the sound of youre pup wont be as good as it will be with sus turned off. At least thats the way it works on my guitar.

    I dont care if he has a 1000 year contract. I DO NOT respect him as a musician! I think his guitarsound really really sucks.. My opinion. What do you know about my talent???

    Are you going to use the tonepots? Soooo many players dont. Maybe you could drop them. i have ordered the gain booster myself for my 81-85 set. Hope it sounds good, even tough i cant think of a more shitty sounding player than Kerry King.

    B.rosewood,s inherent beauty has been its downfall. Currently on the endangered list, it has a worldwide embargo on any new lumber being harvested and marketed until it has been allowed sufficient time to re-grow. There are reforestation programs currently underway; however, the logs must be a least one hundred years old to be commercially usable. So for the next few generations it is not very likely that we will see Brazilian Rosewood reintroduced as a marketable species. I wont use it.

    In my opinion you should be a man and use wood that is not endangered. Theres still plenty of woods to choose from.

    Looks good! I cant belive this is youre first guitar.. I think you should try something much heavier than 60 for the F# string. On my baritone (29") i use 60 (H string) and even that is sloopy.

    On one of my strats i have the volume right below the neck pup. Works fine for me.

    i would like to tune it E-e, like a guitar one octave down. But il have to see how that works...if its to sloopy i will tune up. Thats not a big issue for me.
