  1. http://www.vigierguitars.com/page/fiche_pr...php?id_prod=256 What ever "Delta Metal" is........
  2. How could the nut slot become more shallow over time? He said it used to intonate, but not now...
  3. Did you just replace the strings? You may simply have a bum string. This could happen to an old string as well. It's pretty pointless to try to intonate a guitar using old strings....
  4. Yeah, I would rather have a nick than a stump......
  5. "Salty sausage" That just gives me visuals about something that should NEVER come in contact with a power tool.....
  6. Amazing stuff...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHrmvQKevfI
  7. I know he's only sketching, but he's verbalizing ideas that are a little backwards, and I simply wanted to point that out. Sketch all you want. The sketching however, cannot monopolize the outcome. At some point, reality has to be placed before concept.
  8. What you need to do, is draw the position of your nut and bridge. Then design the body around that. It's quite backwards to design a body, and then try to fit the important elements to that...
  9. Tone voodoo... Where did you hear that the angle of the neck changes the tone?
  10. Not to mention, the Warmoth 24 fret extension covers part of the neck p/u cavity.... No p/u in the neck position.
  11. Given all the pros and cons, I don't understand why you still want to experiment. All the pros can be achieved by simply inserting CF rods in your neck. So, all the pros, without any of the cons. No experimentation needed....
  12. Maybe leave the strips in some hot water?
  13. I think you answered your own question. There is no wood on the cutaway side, thus there is room for the neck to move. As far as I can tell, all you have to do is pull the neck towards you (if you're sitting at it like in the picture). This should place the neck perfectly in the pocket. And if your template was placed correctly, the neck will be aligned with the body. If your neck is aligned with the body now, then you have some issues...
  14. I know you're not new to this, but it seems the distance between the end of the fretboard and the bridge is really short. Is the scale length right, or is it just an optical illusion? There just seems to be so little space between the bridge and the neck. I'm just picturing trying to fit another HB and SC in there (HSH set up), and it looks impossible.....
  15. Depends on what you're doing. There was an example on here a few years ago. The guy thought it was a good idea to use biscuits, until the time came to carve the top. Guess what ended up showing through the carve?
  16. To go with the asymmetrical head....
