  1. Heavily starting to lean towards satin white nitro, chrome hardware on this build. But we'll see! Glued the wings today. No neck angle, I'll put a Hipshot bridge on it.
  2. Ebay seller from Croatia I think. Pretty decent quality for not much money.
  3. Finally had the time to resaw and plane the neck blank for this. The leftovers of the blank are enough for another neckthrough once I glue them together. Wings are too large still, at least I have space to saw some notches for clamps. Maybe I was a bit too eager to cut them into shape, but I did prefer to do it before glue-up. Much easier to handle the small pieces.
  4. Nice work! I've been wanting to get into making a singlecut. Love the way how they look, hate playing them. I guess I can always sell it if it turns out ok. I'll have to look into using metal sheets, interesting info for me, so thanks!
  5. Something about the color scheme of penny leaf looks interesting to me. Not so sure about the tree graphic/inlay.
  6. Just to join in on the choir of caution, 100mA is 10 times the limit for current to contract your muscles involuntarily, meaning once you get zapped, you won't be able to let go of the guitar without help. https://www.elcosh.org/document/1624/888/d000543/section2.html
  7. Since I never entered this guitar in it's original form, here's the "Remake - Revengeance of the Telecasters pt. 2". 25.5" scale, medium jumbo frets, maple and spanish cedar (dried 10+ years) sandwich neck, zebrano board, ash body, flame maple top. SD Custom/Jazz w/coil split. Schaller locking tuners, Gotoh 510UB bridge. Oil finish on everything except the top which is Britetone. This was originally my third build (started building guitars March this year), but I refinished it and made a new neck. So build 5.5 I guess? Build thread Top isn't perfect but at least it's shiny. First try with Britetone gloss! Distressed back like suggested in the build thread. I wanted the back to look like something abandoned in a train yard. Decal from Rothko & Frost, highly recommend. Had to do B&W fret dots to match the zebrano figure.
  8. Oh yeah I got so excited about getting this done that I forgot to post pics of the level sanding process. It was very easy to do with these products, even for a novice like me. Kovax Super Assilex 800, 1200 grits, then Zona Micron 1800, 8000, 10600, 22000 grits, small piece wrapped on a rubber eraser. Lastly Meguiars Ultimate compound with a car polishing pad, did only small areas at a time, lightly buffed once, then cleaned with a microfiber cloth, repeat once. Then final shine with Meguiars ScratchX.
  9. Guitar is done! Soundclip to celebrate! In Flames song from '97.
  10. Thanks for the info, wanted to make sure!
  11. So if I want to change this setup so, that the push-pull pot only affects the neck pickup, I'll just leave the coil ends disconnected and soldered together, and the bridge pickup output wired to the switch like normal? This way I can have coil tapped sound on the neck but humbucker on the bridge, without having to fiddle the push-pull every time I swap pickups. https://guitarelectronics.com/2-humbuckers-3-way-toggle-switch-1-volume-dual-coil-tap/
  12. I found this. Looks like they have people who do nothing but binding all day. Takes two months to learn to do it.
  13. Pretty woods on the neck, I like! Can't wait for oil. I think I'l go with the white pickup ring, looks more classy.
  14. Starting to look like a neck. Neck shaping day tomorrow! Final coat on. Now the cure time of 12 days, and I can give the assilex 800-1200 grits a try for level sanding.
  15. Neck moving onwards, frets install next. Seven coats of Britetone done, couple more to go. New control cavity cover with eh, eye catching contrast.
  16. UPS apparently first was about to deliver the fretboard to me 5 days ago, and now it's in Helsinki for some reason. blech. Anyway, here's progress. Cheeky test. Not too fond of the black pickup ring, but it already has holes for one.
  17. The Green Anaconda 25.5" scale maple neck, ash body, rosewood board, stainless frets. Fishman Fluence Modern pickups, Schaller tuners. This is my fifth build, made this for the bestman at my wedding as a gift for being such a big help. Started building guitars this January in my own small shop.
  18. Routed the neck today. Sandwich of spanish cedar I've had over a decade with maple core.
  19. Lol, maybe I'll relic it a bit. There are a couple places that the stain doesn't take well, maybe 'll just sand those back a bit!
  20. Color ended up a bit too dark on the edges, prolly will take it back a notch with steel wool before applying the britetone. Not perfect but getting somewhere...
  21. Surprise! I wasn't happy with how the guitar turned out, so I'm refinishing it.
