  2. Thanks Setch, Yes that padauk is really nice and the way that grain looks after it was sprayed was better than expected. Mike
  3. You may have to cut the nut in half, or into pieces to get it out.then you can clean up the nut slot to be able to seat the new nut properly.. Goodluck Mike
  4. I agree Drak don't forget about cherry. A realy nice wood to work with and it has some great sound properties as well......My carved top neckthru I am making for myself has cherry in it... take a look here Mike
  5. As Mattia said, no. Jigsaws are way to violent! If you use a jig saw there won't be much of you or the MOP left so please step away from the saw!!!!!!!!!! Mike
  6. to get past the routing problem you can put a scrap piece of wood in the neck pocket for the bearing to run on.... Is the piece of wood in the second picture what you might use for fingerboard. If so Ilove it.. Everthing else is looking great keep up the good work!!!!!!!! Mike

  9. Well it is really up tp you and what you like, and the tastes in inlay that you have...... I will add that you need to pick something that has a good amount of cantrast to you fretboard. That way it will stand out. Here are a couple of examplesthat I have made to show you what I mean.. Mike

  16. very nice looking guitar, have you already glued on the headstock cap? If not you might think about putting a thin sycamore accent stripe under your walnut just to give it a little bit more contrast to really set it off........ Mike
  17. Here is an update on the padauk neckthru I have been working on. The inlay is finaly done, and I have rounded over the edges and I will post some pics as soon as I take them. Mike
  18. you can try GRIZZLY.COM they have some nice spindal sanders, also a company called clayton make really nice spindal sanders...... shop looks nice, and goodluck on the hunt for a good sander.... Mike
  19. finaly got my fretboard for this thing a couple of days ago, but I still haven't had any time to work on it. And it;s KILLIN ME!!!!!!!!!!!! Mike
