    nice job I love the maple top. what angle did you use in the neck pocket.

    I start with 3/4 thick. I rout for the truss rod then I can start to shape the back of the neck. be careful when shaping the neck back you don't take off to much and go into the truss rod channel.

    looks good to me and I have been working with wood for over 20 years. over time your mahogany has got dark and as you cut and plane to thickness you will see it lighten in color. Rick500 is correct when saying the end grain will tear out so take small amout off at a time and then sand to your line

    I love the grain in the mahogany nice job. the neck joint with no neck pickup looks nice and clean.

    I get the best tone from alder or mahogany with maple or ash used as top wood. I have 1 strat and I tele that is all alder and they seem to be the best sounding [warm and sweet clean or dirty] for neck laminated 2 or 3 piece mahogany or maple or a combination of the 2 works well.

    wow that is one nice looking guitar if it sounds as good as it looks then it should have some nice mojo to it.

    never tried them but did check out the web site and one thing I found on pickups. there is prices on all pickups except prs they will email you a price. the price is what it is you don't need to get my email address and send me emails I don't want. fender prices seem to be low for some single coil. I would give them a try as see how thing go.

    sounds like the pickups will cost more then the guitar. if your going with Duncan pickups I would build a new guitar to put them in.

    I have one of the Bill lawrence L 250 in the neck of my tele and it is a vary warm sound. I also have a tele that has a SD vintage stack strat pickup and that sound a little more like a strat. both the Bill lawrence and Seymour Duncan are stacked single coil and both sound good.

    looks cool to me. I like tele guitars. I would put the tummy and top contour on the body. what will it sound like let us know.

    I use epoxy glue for glueing fret board. there is no water in epoxy as there is in tight bond. my thought is to keep the neck as stright as can be. I have used the epoxy on the last 4 neck and have not needed to ajust the truss rod at all. all have turned out great. with the cocobolo I have not had any trouble but I know some do with the dust.

    awesome thing you have done. keep your eye on your son before you know it he will be getting older starting his own band all because you got him started on the guitar . that is great you rock

    nice find A friend of mine built a tele from wood he bought at Home Depot. [curly maple top tele.] every once in a while you will find nice looks stuff

    I like the looks [ nice grain ] I have a zebra wood tele in the works. the top is done my guitar will have a mohagony back with zebra wood top 1/2 thick. George Harrison had a zebra wood tele if that means anything. I have a fender book that has a zeebra wood tele made in there custom shop with 2 humbuckers in it and it looks cool. I say go for it.

    A friend of mine has a 2/12 and its sound cool. you have all the sounds you will need with this one. nothing wrong at all myself I'm a die hard fender tube amp man.

    I thought that was cool. do you know how hard it is to be on stage doing a solo thing and make people laugh. I watched it 2 times it was great. good or bad mike rayburn is making a living and I will assume getting paid for do it.

    do you know witch rio grande pickup you put in. the muy grande or tallboy.I have a set of muy grande I want to use on a tele I'm building. if the tele sounds as good as the strat muy grande that would be cool.
