  1. Look for an auto with the color you like and go to one that cars dealership and find out what the name of the color and what the code is and then contact some of the places from the Google search . Just another suggestion.
  2. But learning to fish sucessfully can be harder than learning to play guitar.
  3. I wouldn't glue it down. There is really no reason to. Just my opinion with no facts to back it up, but I've had a lot of semi-hollow with that type of bridge and the string tension is all you need. Someone might have glued it down so it wouldn't move during string changes, but there is no reason to take all of the strings off at one time (I don't believe).
  4. "Rock on" and get banned eventually. Rebel spirt is good sometimes, but not when you are in someone else's house. Then it is just rude and inconsiderate. You have to play by the rules or get burnt eventually.
  5. I did a Google search (custom colors + spray cans) and a few sites came up. Give it a try and see if it helps you. Good luck.
  6. Right on the money ($.02 that is (even if it is canadian)).
  7. I played one last year and I was not impressed to say the least. The top wood is solid not ply, but construction was poor. The action was terribly high because the bracing was weak. Like I said "not impressed".
  8. Welcome to the forum. My suggestion would be do a SEARCH before asking a question. A lot of questions have been posted and answered in the last two years of the forums short life.
  9. Honestly, I can't answer your question. It might take awhile (or not) for someone to read and post a good answer. You could try looking at some guitar building books (ie. Benedetto's book on arch tops, or Melvin Hiscocks book). I know most on this site are solid body builders, so wait for more answers. Read this, it may or may not help.
  10. I was being nice, Alex. That is something I'm not very good at either.
  11. Hereis a good tutorial. Hope this helps.
  12. I am not sure I can answer you question. Do you have the swimming pool route on your Strat or is it the individual P/U routes? If it is the swimming pool route you don't need to route anything, so you don't have to worry about the finish cracking. If not you can tape the finish before you route to help avoid any finish cracking. But, I don't believe I've seen a slanted Humbucker??? Single coil yes, but not a Humbucker. If you do slant the P/U I don't think lining up the pole pieces with strings will be that much of a problem, but you will need a new pickguard. Hope that helps. Maybe wait awhile for another answer.
  13. AMEN! Now I hope this nonsense is laid to rest. Or at least until some other ingrate gets it in there head to disobey the rules. Moses Graphite - one of my all time favorite basses.
  14. Nice to read about others successes among the latest rounds of hate and discontent. Good review I hope you go far with this.
  15. I just hope they are made in a XXXL for me and Alex.
  16. When I tried to burst ala the tut. I used a low angle and did not cut my template back. The hardest part was keeping the angle consistant. I tried to keep the spray pointed about 1/8" in from the edge and the overspray spread about a 1 1/4" inwards. It took me two tries to get it perfect. Hope this help and good luck.
  17. Use the better, more expensive "metal film" type of caps because there is a difference.
  18. Thank God for capitalism, but I'll stick to wood until it is gone.
  19. I know of others that have used like products and no, a sealer shouldn't be necessary.
  20. I don't have an answer for you except maybe a light burst around the edge, or just leave the knot. I don't think it will look bad at all, just natural. BTW, welcome and I like your name.
  21. What type of guitar? Here is a good site for modifications on wiring. Here
  22. I was going to mention USA Custom Guitars, but they don't do all the styles that Warmoth does. If I had a choice I too would use USA Customs. Tommy the owner is a top notch guy. As VanKirk stated the service is really good, plus I think USA's necks are the best. And they will make a custom for you, Hence their name.
  23. WOW! Hyunsu your work is very, very good. I like your names.
  24. I think Frog in Korean is Kae-gu-ri! Hyunsu am I correct? Planing for $20.00? I would pay that in a heartbeat if I could get someone to do it. Planing worked well for me. I read about sharpening and tuning the plane and just did it. I will have pics of my project on Jan. 1 2005 (Caribburst comp) and then you can see how the bookmatch turned out.
  25. I've seen others use cherry for guitars. I think it would be a good mix with a maple top. Scroll down and read about Cherry
