  1. Wow, I really like that, except that the horn looks too skinny in my opinion, but it looks really nice, love the carve and the top.
  2. Well, I do quite like the stripe down the middle. Builds lookin' great.
  3. 1/4 inch? I would say go with 1/8 inch for the curves and that, being much thinner it takes the curves easier. It's lookin' great overall though, can't wait to see the finished product
  4. I'd say go with the maple one, I really liked the look and the shape of it. The whole thing's lookin' really cool.
  5. Yeah, I dig the inverted neck as well, but don't listen to us, it's all about what you want in your guitar.
  6. I went and looked today, I couldn't find anything either
  7. I'm sure I'm wrong here and would be glad to be corrected, but could you just steam it with an iron or whathaveyou, and then press it flat? That looks awesome by the way. I didn't see it before, may have just missed it, what tuning are you gonna put it in?
  8. Pretty enough for a girl, but I want it too. That's awesome, I really nice job on the inlay, can't wait to see what follows.
  9. The alsa was the first thing that popped into my head too. Aluminum has a very nice shine when polished and you could lacquer over that. That seems like it would be the best choice just cause if you decided to repaint the body you wouldn't have to redo the silver, unless you wanted it different.
  10. It depends on what you mean by a single piece headstock, cause a single piece headstock is important, at least the way you were lookin' at it in the first mockups. A single piece neck, however, isn't. A scarf joint is stronger than a single piece neck. Here's a good tutorial from perry ormsby about how he does scarfed necks. He uses a jointer but you could certainly do it with a regular hand plane, it would just take a little more time and patience. http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.php?showtopic=30212
  11. Well, I'd say that if you want a burst you should get an airbrush and practice a little bit. The Paasche VL is a great all around brush. Otherwise you might want to do a single color. I'm not sayin' that your paintjob is bad, but it could be a lot better.
  12. Someone else can correct me if I'm wrong, but you reallllllllllly need to rethink how to do that neck. With what you have, I would suggest that you should just scarf the headstock.
  13. A lot of people route out the wiring spaces before they put the top on. Seems like it's gotta be easier that way than drillin' holes, certainly less risky.
  14. Nice score. Same thing happened to me, the bassist in my band broke the headstock off his neckthrough bass a while ago, so I asked if I could have it, so I have a project for some point lol.
  15. WOW!!!!! I stopped breathing for a bit when I saw the top on that second one, I LOVE IT!!!!!!!
  16. You could try planing the headstock off and scarfing on a new one, don't know what you could do about the body though.
  17. Sweet, lookin' awesome, you should leave the neck square, hehe. Are you gonna leave the top natural or stain it? damn, I even looked and still didn't see before I posted, hehe
  18. Well, I think it looks better darker. I like the design, very nice and elegant.
  19. I don't remember who, but someone did a solid body that was spruce with some claro walnut on the sides and bottom so that it didn't get too banged up, I believe that's what it was anyway.
  20. I think it would be cool if you made the frame glossy and left the inlay part matte.
  21. I like the burst that you did on that test piece.
  22. Really? I used a prs template for the body then modified it. So I just drew something similar to a prs headstock but different off the top of my head with tuner's so I didn't make it off. I just looked and it is really close, wow lol Great minds I guess
  23. Wow, that's awesome. I just bought a couple older planes, but nothin' near that cost or size, damn.
  24. Well, I'm late I know, but happy Birthday Daniel. As far as the whole license thing, I'm 19 and still don't have mine, though I have to get it soon. So you're certainly not alone in that lol
