i would love to learn some theory. the more the better. im very interested in understanding the modes. honestly i have little to no understanding of modes. and also some chromaticism. if you could give me a lecture i would love it. i know the order and all of that jive but i dont understand what that means.

im more about expression and no im not a one trick pony. i practice for 6-8 hours a day and study my theory. i made a casual comment and ill live up to it. im not at all like rusty cooley. but im comparable to slash.

I can play fast but by no means am i vai material. I can do the fast pentatonic jive plus a bit of fast lydian, sweep picking and have my own bag of tricks. I never said i was like UBER shredder yngwie styled sweep picker. im pretty damn good though for my time playing. ill show you guys a clip of my band playing when we record tommorow.
  12. drak again... i hate you. that bottom one is cocobolo? and the top one is.... what is it>?
  13. i think hes searching for a quick fix. here are a couple licks ive picked up that are easy BTW all of them can be used anywhere on the neck except for where you bend 7 up to 5. if you have strong fingers maybe its a very fast motion. ---------------5^(1/2 step)-3------ --------------------------------------5 --------------------------------------- --------------------------------------- --------------------------------------- --------------------------------------- Thats called going down a minor 3rd. very common in the blues. www.all-guitar-chords.com learn the pent. minor/major/dorian here another quick lick --------------------- -----5---------------- ----------7(bend full step) --------------------- --------------------- --------------------- repeat fast. Another for srv rockabilly/johnny be goode esque thing ------0------------------ ------0------------------ after doing the slide either go to open e or open b -2/4 (barely touch strings very fast) another country blues --------------------- --------------------10 --------7 (h) 9 (bend up full step)(bend down back to 9) ---------------- ---------------- ---------------- thats all for now. and if you want to play with local bands learn how to play in key. by learning scales.
  14. ! nice work! my inlay is like that!!!! with the seagulls...etc... but not as articulate. crap im going to go work on it.
  15. just put something heavy on the headstock. trust me. youll notcie about a 10% increase.
  16. try a bandsaw. then plane it. then if necessary glue now wood on the side.
  17. oh i thought the epis are bolt. no problem bro. dont bother spending money. they look just as ugly as a clamp. so if your worried about the look this is not any better. save the money man!
  18. long does it take???? ok... the idea is the heavier the body and the more wood the more sustain. just adding weight will help significantly for a bolt on LP
  19. or perhaps a set of magnets .... or tape and something heavy....
  20. might i suggest just putting regular clamps on? one regular mini clamp will do the trick.
  21. when you add weight to the headstock it adds sustain.
  22. put a clamp on the headstock.
  23. well.. you should play both.... what kind of music?
