Just drill so that you can get a wire under the bridge somewhere where you can't see it, that it'll contact the metal of the bridge. What kind of bridge are you using, exactly (just curious)?
My current build (with a TOM bridge) has a recess for the TOM, specifically to avoid the need for a neck angle. I see the neck angle as something to be avoided if at all practical to do so.
I guess there could be something to be said for a small neck angle being more ergonomic for the fretting hand. I don't think it makes very much difference.
I'd like to hear differing opinions though. (I'm sure someone has one. )
Are you building a neck or buying one? Naturally, the neck is going to have to match the neck pocket.
The fretboard on a neck made for a wider neck will be wider at least at the body end of the neck. May or may not be wider at the nut; depends on the taper of the neck.
Isn't it amazing how glossy some woods can get just from sanding and polishing? Very cool.
I have a pic somewhere of the last neck I built with the cocobolo fretboard actually reflecting like a mirror.
Thanks for the pics. They look good... however, I missed the 15/16" dimension when I read your post. I need at least 8/4 so I'll have to pass.
I appreciate the reply though.
I'm potentially interested... any idea how much shipping would be to Zip 40229?
I'll check back for pics later (and no hurry... take it easy, it's a holiday!).
Both good. Have you had Sierra Nevada 2008 Anniversary Ale? Grab some; it's really awesome.
Also had a really good one last week Chicago O'Hare, at Rock Bottom Brewery... Itasca, I think it was. Really great.
Be aware that there was a safety recall on Sears 10" radial arm saws. I don't remember the details, but you can probably find them with a Google search.
I have a bookmatched set that could pass for the twin of the top on your guitar. Also from eBay. I wonder if it was from the same seller...
Anyway, great-looking guitar. C'mon, tell us what the finish is.
Nice-looking stuff there. I'd grab some more but I haven't used any of the pieces I bought from you last time, yet.
For anyone looking, it's really nice swamp ash... I have a shelf full of it in the garage.
