  1. I would suggest that you sand those burn marks away. If you don't they'll haunt you forever.

  3. luckly this guitar will have a hardtail bridge. i never use the tremolo on my guitars. i like the 25" scale too. but cutting off the excess wood in a 25.5 is no trouble at all.
  4. that's what I'm thinking too. that'll work for sure!
  5. hi there, sorry if my reply sounded bad, it's just that my english is not very good and sometimes it's hard to communicate like a polite person would do. in my case when mistakes happen I always start all over again, just because when I look at my instruments and they have something that went bad, I can't help but only see that bad spot. and that mistake will haunt you forever. so after my 2nd build I got into the "making everything right even if it means starting something again policy" that's one of the reasons you see some very nice guitars going to the Wall Of Doom. and so many others being left behind and not being finished.
  6. hey xanthus, I did both I did it fender style, but with a little angle, very little (just a 3mm diference) i don't like string retainers but I didn't wanna lose the fender look, so I made a little experimet. well see if this works, probably not, but we'll see when I put the strings. on the next one I will be more bold and try a larger angle. if you choose to buy stew mac fretboard you can always cut off the extra wood and make it work. let me know what you decide and post your progress here!
  7. it's not screwed down! if you got a guitar with a floyd just look at your guitar. take the strings off and see for yourself. you'll see. but then, I'm pretty sure you'll need help to get everything back in place.
  8. man it's the second time you make this kind of mistake. in the Sg you had to cut off the last frets, now you've considered losing the first one. glad to see you figured things out. but you need to be more careful. think 100 times before making any cuts and glue stuff. make full size drawings! plan everything.
  9. thanks a lot man. I just used a regular woodcraft router bit, I guess the corners seems tighter in the pics. I should get the stewmac pickup cavity ones, because the ones I use are a bit large. when routing the pickup cavity I have to use a chisel to make it right.
  10. yeah! i use a tablesaw, and then, i tape some sandpaper in a flat surface, and sand sand sand... today I glued the fingerboard on, and shaped the neck. here's a pic new pics here
  11. I have a rivera hundred duo twelve. all tube, 100W. amazing. that's the only word I can think. I don't use any effects anymore... just the guitar plugged into the amp. as for guitars, I have a PRS custom 22, and the replica I made.
  12. lol! it's the shadow of the drill bit i used to keep the fingerboard in place when gluing. you can see the holes in this pic I use that technique all the time!
  13. sand it back, and maybe use some sort of caul to evenly distribute the pressure.
  14. one other thing. if you post pictures of your progress we can help you a lot. maybe we'll see something that you missed and you can avoid making some mistakes. this forum is about learning and sharing experiences. so, make your plans, draw the instrument full size, and if you have a question, ask us! we are here to help you.
