weezerboy
on my squier strat the tremelo always used to lay flat to the guitar but since i have changed my strings from 9's to 11's the bridge has started to lift about 1/2cm above the body. This has reduced the otherwise excellent tuning stability. what should i do???
westhemann
on the back of the guitar is a plate which you need to remove.you will see 2 screws.turn them clock wise until the bridge is again laying flat if that is where you want it.you will have to retune as this will raise the pitch of your strings.since you changed to bigger strings you MAY have to adjust your truss rod also.check the neck to see if it has too much forward bow.if it does go here to see how to adjust it
westhemann
i also recomend reading this to learn more about setting up your instrument.as you can see there is more to changing string guages than just slapping on a set so you want to be sure that is the guage you want. krazyderek
ya, depending on how big of a change it was you might want to think about reseting the intonation, but one venture at a time i suppose
