Thoughtless 7 Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 I am looking for a basic Schematic for say, taking a guitar signal and splitting it and sending them into two different directions (e.g. signal 1 to a clean amp and signal 2 to an overdriven amp) Simply; 1 input and 2 outputs. GregP Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 It looks so simple, but alas schematics are greek to me. I really need a 'beginner site for reading schematics and building simple electronics' website. Greg Quote
lovekraft Posted September 21, 2005 Report Posted September 21, 2005 Thoughtless, do yourself a huge favor - if you're going to A/B between amps, make sure whatever box you build/buy has isolated outputs! The potential for ground loops between two amps, especially considering the state of most venues' power systems, is too large to be ignored. Check out RG Keen's Signal Routing and Effects Order section on the GEOfex FX Projects page - the "hum-free" items are the ones you should check out. There's even a real transformer-isolated A/B box without any expensive parts. It's worth the extra effort, trust me! Greg, if you need help learning to read schematics, check the pinned thread at the top of this section for some potentially useful links. Quote
Thoughtless 7 Posted September 21, 2005 Author Report Posted September 21, 2005 (edited) {EDIT} Just saw the schematic. Never mind lol >_> This project is something for my cousin to use. He wants to have one signal to go trough an octave pedal into a Bass amp and the other signal into guitar FX and then into his guitar amp. Apparently two-piece bands are all the rage around my town... Edited September 21, 2005 by Thoughtless 7 Quote
marksound Posted September 21, 2005 Report Posted September 21, 2005 So he wants to split the signal and keep both sides on at the same time? How about a Y cable? Simple and cheap. Quote
