Brian Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 Caltech Fretboard Compound might be worth investigating further. Quote

syxxstring Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 anybody ever try this stuff? Quote
ryeisnotcool2 Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 interesting, i'd be interested in it, they only thing is if your inlay work is not PERFECT it will show every little defect. Quote
LGM Guitars Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 It does not shrink, rise, or sink like standard relacement fret dots I find that line quite humorous, last I checked most standard replacement dots were plastic, abalone, MOP, etc, and I've never seen that shrink rise or sink Quote
Snork Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 might be a little strange. Especially if it was goopy. I could see it being really nice for a tree of life. wonder if you could dye it. Quote
butnut Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 Sounds very much like the new UV cure Bondo. I used the new Bondo on the flamed Tele to fill screwholes and level off the wood filler for the neck pup. Very different texture from original Bondo, kinds gummy, looks like thick snot. Kinda opaque creamy whiteish. I'm sure you could add pearl to color it, Sands OK, even in the hot sun it did'nt cure rock hard like to old stuff, but still sandable. Quote
jbkim Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 wonder if you could dye it. I was wondering the same thing for that dot-less ebony fretboard thread. Quote
