Marcovis
I just found this place and thought I would share my latest guitar project. Its obviously based off a PRS but with hints of rickenbacker and even schecter. Here are the specs: Quilted mahogany back with flamed East coast maple top, Indian rosewood neck, Indian rosewood fingerboard and headcap, 25" scale, jumbo frets, figured pearl and paua inlays, gotoh tuners, tonepros wraparound bridge, CTS pots w/RS cap, and Seymour Duncan custom-custom/jazz pickups. http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL19/198486...6/172656009.jpg http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL19/198486...6/172655988.jpg http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL19/198486...6/172656034.jpg Edited September 29, 2006 by Maiden69

CrazyManAndy
Welcome to the best guitar forum on the net! That guitar is a beauty. How does she sound and feel? CMA
Marcovis
Thanks. The guitar sounds/plays amazing. I love the unfinished rosewood neck and the carve (.835-.935) is perfect for me. The guitar hardly weighs in over 7 lbs and rings like a bell. The whole guitar just vibrates when you strum a chord. Slabbefusk
The only thing I can complain about is the pic posting rules, 640x480, one per post isn't it? Other than that, GORGEOUS!
Inisheer
Great work! I think I've seen it before though, did you post it on mimf? Everything about it looks top notch. I only have one (off topic) question.....I know the lighting is better outside for taking pictures of it, but why do people put their guitars on the ground to take the pics? If I made a nice guitar I wouldn't want it laying in the dirt.....

I didn't want it laying in the dirt either, that's why I put it on the grass

Scott Rosenberger
The only thing I can complain about is the pic posting rules, 640x480, one per post isn't it? Other than that, GORGEOUS! NO!!! Reread the rules for this section Posting Of Pictures: - ALL pics are to be no more than 640x480 pixels. - ONE PIC PER POST., except in the Tutorial sections, where you are allowed up to 10 pics per post. - All subsequent (following) pics in a post are to be linked. DO NOT USE THE "IMG" TAG for pics 2, 3, 4, 5, etc. - DO NOT HOT-LINK TO PICS NOT OWNED BY YOU AND ON YOUR OWN SERVER. Use the URL tag instead to provide a link to the pic. - ABSOLUTELY NO PORNOGRAPHIC MATERIAL IS TO BE POSTED. Posting of such will result in an IMMEDIATE ban from the site. Inisheer
I didn't want it laying in the dirt either, that's why I put it on the grass Dirt, grass.....same thing. Wouldn't the guitar get dirty either way? Sorry....back on topic now. I agree with Desopolis, that mahogany looks really nice. I've been thinking about a similar project and couldn't decide on natural mahogany, or stained. You've helped me choose now. Nice inlays too btw. Daniel Sorbera
Very nice and unique. I love the unique purple stain and those inlays look very well done. Lets see some pics of the back of the neck. I'm a sucker for an unfinished rosewood neck. BTW how many guitars have you built? This one obvioulsy was not built by a noob. I'd like to see some of your other work.
toddler68
Gorgeous! Does that neck feel like butter, or what? I am finishing up a purple stained maple cap myself. Just curious, how did you get the color? It's nice. One other question: what's your finish?

I'd like to see some of your other work. I graduated from the Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery in '02 and so far I have built 9 guitars in my spare time. Gorgeous! The stain is a mix of red and blue colortone from stewmac and I used McFadden's nitro lacquer. Here is a much better shot of the body. A few more shots Headstock inlay Full back at an angle Full back Full shot Here are some shots of the last project After spraying burst Paua inlaid boise de rose headcap Full back Paua inlay Full front
