My Winter Tele Build 2006

Recommended Posts

I already know the "color" I want , but I was wanting to know the "best" type and or brand of stain to use in my case,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I want to end up with a blue that has a hint of Turquoise in it,,,,,,,,,, also Drak had mentioned needing to use a "bleach" in the side of the top which has some red in it since I'm using blue,, he said that IF I were using a brown or most other colors I;d be ok without the bleach BUT that it would show through the blue if I didn't bleach it in order to "match" the two sides of the top.

I already have a couple of spray guns and he'd told me before that either should work BUT I wanted to know what type or brand of finish he uses and where he gets his from.

I live in an area that I can't really get what I need but by mail order so, I wanted to find this out and order from where ever I needed to.

Ok Guys,

I'm FINALLY back,,,, been a LOT of stuff going on in my life and those of my family,,, anyways,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I finally have ALL of the parts to do this guitar now,,,,,,,,, BUT I've yet to buy the dye or stain nor have I bought the clear coat finish to protect it all........... here's the problem,,, I'm fairly sure I'll screw this up if I do it UNLESS I decide that I'll be satisfied with a "wipe on" finish,,, like a semigloss poly............... I know this would NOT be the best thing to do BUT I'd be absolutely sick if I messed this body up,,,,,,,, I should have started out doing a couple or three cheap pawn shop Strats till I got the hang of this ........................

Update: I ended up getting one of the guys here to do the finish on the body. (He did a GREAT job to) I'm now in the process of putting it all together. Here's a picture of the front and back of the body .
