my kramer/allparts project is nearing completion. all that's left is attaching the neck to the body and putting a pickup in there (ok, I admit it, I'm a slow worker when it comes to these things).

anyway, I was browsing the net looking for cool guitars. and I remembered the HM strats. they are pretty damn cool guitars IMO. but does anyone know where I can find more info on them? some place where I could find pictures and enough dimensions to make a simple drawing of the body and neck?

Heavy Metal Strat.

Fender's first effort at appealing th the 80's hair band guitarists.

Basically a Strat with rear routing, no scratch plate, humbuckers and a Floyd Rose.

btw, I have heard only the best things about the original 80s HM strats, but they're absolutely rare on German eBay...

If you've ever cut a regular strat body, the HM is the same except for the Radius on the body edges.

from what I can tell it's closer to a slimmed soloist shape?

Yup, afaik the HM srats body is a bit smaller overall and has "slimmer" cutaways for a look that is a little more pointy
