i have one good qiestion.

where can you check if guitar and its neck is genuine by the serial #?

if its more than one place, name me a couple of places for companies?

fender, ibanez, gibson, prs etc.

for fenders it's on the head,

for gibsons it's on neck plate! and i dunno about ibenez!

I think if you go on the forum at Gibson.com you can post a question with the number and they will let you know. I have been on there before when someone had a question about a serial # and one of the Customer Service people told them about it. Not sure about the other ones though.

The web is dotted with pages for you to search with info on serial numbers. I found a few for Fenders just now:

There is a page on the ibanez site that tells you how to decode their serial numbers. I know that one of my guitars was built in '81 based on this. Can't find the link though...

run a search on guitar serial numbers and see ifd you can find what you want.

many companies have that info(jackson does it for their usa model)

and alot of guitar geeks have the info too.

but one site for all of it?i have never seen one
